I'm rebranding my website and I would like a logo to mark my various projects. The 2 ideas I was playing around with were an obvious "W" and a simple geometric shape or cube.

So my question is, which one of the above designs has a good balance of professionalism and visual impact

Number 5 is the best in my opinion.
Good luck with the site.

Either 2, 5 or 6. And I'd say 4 and 8 are out of the question.

I would go for 5. Apart from 1, 2 and 3, the rest are actually pretty hard to comprehend, and 4 and 8 look a bit over-done-ish.

Number 1.

4 and 8 are too complex and 5,6 and 7 look like Rubik's Cubes.

best.

I'm sorry, my answers are limited. You must ask the right question.

I'd say 1-3. 5-7 aren't very relevant to the "W" theme.

I'm with 3. The assymetry keeps it interesting, it doesn't look very cliché and it shows something that links to you (the W), in contrary to 5-8. 4 and 8 are not really usable as logo, maybe for an intro sequence or so, but not as logo.

1 or 3 are amazing! The other ones are irrelevant or too complicated. 2 is crap.

i think 3 or maybe 5...

4 might not work very well because it is kind of confusing.

1 is cliche and looks like something you see on a college sweater.

2 isn't that bad, but not that great

1,3 are ok, though 1 is, as has been said, kind of shirty.
2 is poor.
5-7 don't pertain to the W theme at all. Might look good beside the name, though are otherwise fairly generic looking. 5 is the best.
4,8 are rather complicated, 4 moreso, but you can whittle them down to something a touch simpler, a little... like this:

Just don't use 2.

The number 5 is beautiful, but it does not resemble anything. 4, 6, 7, 8 are not usable, in my opinion.

So I vote for number 1. Simple, usable and easy to remember.

personally i like no:1# it is simple and affective i could see this logo being successful i find it hard to imagen any of the others being anywhere near as successful but hay thats just my opinion

i say well done on these logos they are all good but 1 is the best

i see on your website that you are using no:1#
i might be interested in your websites Services in the near future
hope it all goes well for you and your site

#1 is the easiest to read. I like #4, but it's too complex for a logo I think.

#3!!

4 and 8 are too complex
5,6,7 are too geometric, and won't be memorable, except maybe 5
2 is too neat
3 is one, but better, so I vote 3...

maybe you should think of using cubes to make an W...

Good luck!

I'd say #3, with #1 as a second choice. Mind you, they're practically the same and often companies will use variations such as those for different uses. I.e. One might look better on a dark background as opposed to light, etc.

Hi guys,

Thank you all for the feedback.

Thanks! I dont create websites as part of the service, just logo designs. I was going to create a new thread explaining my new site but i might as well talk about it here.

I'm a junior designer working for a small digital print/design firm. A want to practice identity and logo designs as these are becoming quite a regular job at the moment. The freelance designers in our area are known to charge something like £150 - £300 for a set of variations. My website is designed to provide what im hoping to be a regular quality service, for individuals who don't want to solve a branding issue with £200. I have had good feedback so far which is great. i'm currently aiming at the development / modding community as thats my "safety zone" for the time being. anyways, check my site for the lowdown. end plug

I hate 1-4 and 8
my favourite is 6: it's a very flexible design
