Are there any good free ones out there? Or any at all? Because Black and White does not seem to like my computer, and I don't care you the Sims (i know I'm weird). But I would like to play one. I want to play Spore but thats gonna be a while so any suggestions guys?

Goorf, I think it's the Black and White isn't always a fan with Windows XP, though I've managed to get it running, a friend of mine couldn't run it - but Black and White 2 worked like a charm.

Populous won't work on NT systems, so there is no point in getting it, unless you have a DOS emulator.

try patching it, it didn't like my computer till I patched it, and now it runs beautifully .

Spore is supposed to come out in the second quarter of 2008. I believe this is more than a year and a half delay.

lol Spore is so delayed it isnt even funny. i have it Patched and all, its just some games do not like to work properly, this happened with tribes and some other game. I mean oblivion works just fine on high but freking tribes wont, its so dumb.

Are you sure you're using the latest video drivers downloaded directly from ati/nvidia?

I've never had an issue with black and white, though I've never played tribes. I've never bought a game actually that didn't run on my puter

I think Populous: the beginning is really the best suggestion that was made. I still play it sometimes. And sometimes just having fun blocking the opponenent on an island, letting them grow and then DASANKO.

B&W doesn't work on my 7600GS, I get messed up 3d - caused by some random change to Nvidia drivers that came into play past a certain point.

I have to disable AGP texture acceleration in dxdiag for it to work at all - so it runs slower, but luckily since it's a fairly old game now it doesn't matter too much speed-wise.

I'm not upset about Spore's delays... those of you who were alive back when Sim Life and Sim Earth came out will more than likely remember how slow sales were for those games, and Spore has a lot of those same qualities. Mr. Wright is probably just taking his sweet time ensuring everything is as perfect as it can be . Plus, Maxis has The Sims 3 to worry about.

I bought sim life a couple of years ago along with sim farm
Sim life was rubbish, it was hardly a game and it was ridiculous.
Sim farm was much better but it quickly got to a point where i was just flying my crop-duster around and raking in the money without doing any work.
