i just reinstalled my laptop with a fresh win xp sp2 os i have all the driver, the .net framework, latest direct x but for some reason when i loaded up dark basic on the laptop, whatever code i tried running tells me that its not a valid win 32 application (you know the error)

i reinstalled db double checked everything, and this is not the first time putting db on this laptop after a fresh installation it worked every time before so i am wondering if i forgot something.

and no neither my OS or db is pirated.

anyone know anything about this because i am stumped..

Totally non-valind.

In any case, check for damage to your CD, download the demo and check if that works. If the demo works, you're probably screwed with a bad CD.

it is not the cd because i have tried the cd and the copy of the cd i have backed up on a hard drive and it gave me the same error, i think its something else
