I have searched the forums, and maybe I just didn't use the right search words, but I need to know how to make textures look good on the models I create. It seems that when I apply textures to my models, the textures get distorted. Here is a screen shot. I use 512x512 textures and save as .tga file and use the make entities from x files to create my models. Thanks

the texture is actually 2056x2056. I put it over the uv map 3 times and sized accordingly. This has me puzzled, it seems all textures I try to put on my models get stretched/distorted in the game.

@darimc- you couldn't be more wrong..

@Hardcore- that is way to big for what you are trying to do. try using a 5512x512 texture for this model.

It seems that the UVmap is not proportional to the model. the edges of the main body are to small causing it to stretch over the model..

Instead of making the edges smaller in on the UVMap, make them bigger or leave them the sames size as they were when you first unwapped it. If you do that then you will fix your problem.

Why on earth would you use a 1024x1024 or a 2046x2046 for that type of model? if it doesn't have a lot of painted detail then keep it small..

Cheers,
Dave

Actually I could, example: Wear a banana on your head and make a monkey play the bongos. Go fish might help too.
