OK, I know this is a huge long shot but has anyone got my 'Who want to be a millionaire' video on their hard drive?

I managed to delete it somehow.
I still have it on VHS but I don't own any antique hardware on which to play it.
It was recorded and encoded by Nemesis and hosted by Jimmy on dbspot but the download link no longer works (no suprise really).
Here is the original post about it:

Scraggle's WWTBAM thread

So, if anyone still has it, I would really appreciate it if you could make it available for me.

Thank you

Unlucky, I'm sure I deleted that from my drive no more than 2 weeks ago when I stumbled across it by complete accident. Sorry.

well how'd you get it on vhs then? Besides, lots of great movies justify buying a new "antique" device. But to answer your question, I never saved the file, deleted it after watching.

You'll probably find it if you can remember the date

You can send the VHS to a company who will transfer it to DVD for you, or, if you can't bear parting from it you can try and find a shop near you that does it and take it in in person.

Seeing as though you appeared on the program, is there no way to contact ITV/Celador and ask for details on where you can fetch a recording/ whether it's on DVD?

I searched my computer, I'm a packrat so there's always a good chance, but nothing I'm afraid Like David R siad you can probably buy that episode from the recording studio.

Hmm. April 2005. There's a good chance that someone from the forums at that time who is no longer active might have the missing file.

That sort of loss can be infuriating. I once had a load of photos that I took as a young teenager: photos of friends and family, traction engines (yes, I was a nerd even then ), assorted animals, etc. Carefully transported them from house to house until on one house move I couldn't find them to pack up - then realised that I had no recollection of seeing them since the PREVIOUS house move. Since then I've found several occasions to want to look at the damn things.

Life can be a pain at times.

Hope you find the video - just the sort of thing to show your children and grandchildren. Hey! Is that what this is about ... ?

But I think Cash's and David R's suggestion is the best bet - but don't leave it too long or it'll go the same way as some early Dr Who episodes and that terrific Andromeda sci-fi series from the 60s/70s.

you can buy a vhs player and a DVR machine for probably under $100. It may come in handy in the future as well to have around.

You could buy a dirt cheap second hand tape player, hook it to a TV card and rip it using that. Then sell the player on.

Since the other one was scaring you guys so much...

This is at least the third time you've reported accidentally deleting something important.

Is a pattern emerging?
