I recently got this offer from Caligari about GameSpace.

For $200 I can get:

-GameSpace 1.6
-7 video courses
-Mapper Plugin
-Level Exporter Plugin
-Copy of DarkMATTER
-3 space fighter models from Reactor Interactive (used in Sector 13)

Will all this be worth the money? I'm still learning Blender, but should I get this? Any advice is helpful.

Edit: I've got until December 25th to decide.

It's a good deal (one of the best I've seen them offer). I own all of Drew's video courses and they are excellent. The space fighter models (made by Drew) aren't in the actual Sector 13 game; I believe they were early creations that he finished off...though they are still of the same quality.

He shows you how to start making your own ship in one of the videos. If you are new(ish) to 3D; I'd say go for it. GS has it's problems, like any other modeler), but it's well worth the price.

That is a good offer...if I could afford it I would have done it myself (kind of got the same offer from them).
As a matter of fact I am just getting ready to start playing with Gamespace light in a little bit if I can.
Blender has a lot of fans but I get confused just starting it up.Unless they have done one heck of an overhaul on the interface I'm not messing with it.This is just my opinion (on Blender) and not meant to offend the folks who like it.
Gamespace light is free. You might check it out before you shell out any dough.

Please have mercy and use the search function.

one good free modeller app that tends to get overlooked is SoftImage XSI ModTool. They recently upgraded the free app from the 4.2 base package to version 6. It's up there with functionality of apps like Blender, but has a UI that most will find comfortable straight away. I personally like the 3dsMax apps myself, but if you are on a low budget and want a really good free modelling app, and are not too keen on Blender for whatever reason, you might want to give SoftImage XSI 6 ModTool a look. And don't let the term "modtool" fool you, its not just for XNA, and HL modding/modelling. Its a full blown modeller, with dx exporter built in.

(the built in dx exporter inverts z axis data, but I have a free util that will fix the x file. its on my dbp page (sig link))

My DBP plugins page is now hosted [href]here[/href]

And if you like XSI, you can get XSI:Foundation for just $500 (though you can't upgrade to the higher packages from this version); it's got everything you need for game art as well as one of thebest animation packages in the industry.

I forgot you had made that CR; I'll have to grab it.
