I'm so hyped. I'll be going to it in about half an hour, I'll come back with a detailed review for you all.

I don't know what it is about Will Smith, but I have to admit that I'm a big fan of his movies. Is it that smile every dude likes in a totally heterosexual way? Is it the hair? I'll never know, but I do know I'll be seeing him kick monster butt tonight!

wooo, was a great movie. Compared to the epic movies we've seen like 300 or LOTR, I give it a 3 out of 5. Compared to everything else, definitely a 4. It's right up there on my "Earth is doomed" movie list along with War of the Worlds (if only War of the Worlds didn't have Tom Cruise in it!)

No spoilers, but it may make you wish you saw the movie first:

Spoilers, for god's sake don't read this if you didn't watch it!:

I just saw this movie and have been a great fan of the original novel. It does the book some justice with an updated version of itself. Yes. The monsters were perfect. They had there own little world and were willing to bare the sunlight a bit and try to outsmart the hero. But in the end no matter how sad the ending was...Good triumphs over evil.
The back flashes were intense, The acting, Perfect. CGI perfect. The dog dying..sad but predictable. The mutt had to go in order to save is best friend. All in all. **** and one smiley face with a tear.

Okay, thanks about the dog thing. Jeez.

I can't wait to see it, in any case. Glad to hear it's good - it premiers here on the 20th.

Yeah, having read the book means you really can't watch the moive; Being a fan of the robot series in general meant it just pissed me off. The whole time all I heard in my head was WRONG. WRONG. WRONG>>>>

I might see this. Looks a bit interesting, but definitely not at the top of my list.

I'm partial to a bit of Asimov on occasion, but it doesn't mean I didn't enjoy the film of I, Robot.

But guys, PLEASE stop posting things like "spoiler - don't read if you haven't seen it"

I can't help clicking on them.

It's reverse psychology... Paid WAY more attention to them bits than the rest of the topic... Kind of wanted to see that film as well...

oh man, i just watched the movie, and it was crazy!!

Quote: "A review of the movie I just read said that the monsters were 'not all that scary'. I can assure you though, I was terrified. The reviewer obviously had no heart."

yeah, no joke... he must have been desensitized from all the movies he's reviewed... because i was holding on to my seat for dear life.

spoiler (haha reverse psychology!... but really i won't say anything in here that hasn't already been revealed)

i still can't decide if that movie was depressing or not

wow. chill out.

I thought that, regardless of the book, it was a good movie. Some moments were genius, others not so much. The 3d modeling of New York, although better than I can do, was disappointing. They're professionals! Come on!

Those weren't models! Check out the wikipedia page on it. They used cg to remove people and I'm sure to age it a little. Pretty amazing, I thought it was all cg.

Why would you want to watch the movie if it was exactly the same as the book? You've already read the book; should watching the movie just be a way to check that it is exactly the same?
I never watch films that are based on books I've read and vice versa for that reason. I suppose what you are really mad at is that people who haven't read the books will go away thinking that what they have seen IS the book, when it isn't.

If you're ever going to refer to will smith, don't ever call him 'that guy from i robot' as that movie sucked.

I saw Legend tonight and I'd give it a 6/10, average. It had some good parts but the ending I felt was weak.

Things I didn't like that may be spoilers:

I Robot was a great movie IMO, what was wrong with it? It had a good story, good acting, good effects, and was a good sci-fi action movie all around. And don't say it's because it wasn't as good as the book, cause that doesn't matter to me . The movie is the movie, the book is the book.

Thought it was great, barring the fact it carried the name I, Robot (which it didn't really pay justice to) and the horrendous quantity of product placements.

I've got no problem with being liberal when making a movie and having it loosely based on the book. I, Robot however was so far removed--- there was *nothing* from the book aside from Susan Calvin being a character. It was nothing more than a cash-in on the franchise title. I would have much rather seen a movie that was fairly close to the book.

Honestly, I didn't even know there was a book. I just found the movie incredibly boring, I could barely finish watching it. The special effects were good though, and the promotional website they had long before the movie came out was quite interesting.

Say the movie and really liked it. Makes me want to go out and read the book now. As always though, the book is usually better than the movie, and might make me notice some flaws people have noted. Either way, I was on the edge of my seat the whole movie expecting things to jump out of nowhere.

I really liked the movie, except the ending should have shown some more. But other than that it was excellent!

It's not that I didn't figure out what they were trying to say, its that it was never developed, and so it seemed pointless to even have it in there.

Wasn't the whole point to demonstrate how Will was still human, in comparison to all the other things around him? mean, I would flip out and kill things if my only dog friend died too.

Just came back from the movie, loved it.

A few questions though: (Unless someone already mentioned them)
