I you are like me, you don't have a ton of money to spend on games and pc parts. I would like to get Battlefield 2 and FPS creator x10 but I need a video card. Not having the money for the 8800 GTX I will have to wait for a year or more to get the 8800 GTX. This is the life of the budgeted gammer/game creator.

What about the 8800GT? It's almost as powerful as the GTX and costs about 3/5 of the price.

A 8600GT has given me pretty good performance with UT3 and it only costs about $150.

A year?
I would think you could get some part time job or something and put together the cash for a new card in under a couple of months. I paid $300 for an 8800 GTS 320.

I heard you can now SLI 3 GeForce cards now. Anyway, why don't you look over at the card compatibility thread?

actually, the radeon HD3850 is directx 10.1 and is very good value for money and performance compared to the GF 8600 GT.. i got mine for £90 including VAT and it plays company of heroes, oblivion, need for speed pro street and team fortress 2 (and cs:s, but thats getting a bit old now), all on highest quality without breaking an FPS sweat.

I have looked at graphics cards for my pc and they are all very expensive, except for an $82 one that is an ATI RADEON X1050, which has only 256MB video capability, and probably isn't the best anymore. On the other hand, it's the only one I can afford . . .
