An ITV news report showing an animation of a galaxy with a massive black hole in it's core, that's firing a beam into space and devestating a galaxy. Doesn't that make george lucus's death star seem weak!

You've linked to the site, not the actual video.

I just read about this last night, from what I understand it's only strong enough to wipe out a planet's atmosphere. Not that it's much better though, lol.

Screw it. We're getting zapped by some Gamma Ray Burst. Or check http://www.exitmundi.nl/exitmundi.htm

Baby Black Holes

Imagine walking into one of the baby black holes and getting sucked inside :

Talking to some one and Zzzp, they're gone.

That's awesome. However that NASA render seams mroe dangeraous looking than the real thing. Actually it looks nothing like the real thing. Way to go NASA... ROFL... Shouldn't the scientific render look slightly more like the real thing?

That's a seriously funny site - what else can you say about a site that starts off it's meteor strike page with:

That's no galaxy. It's a space station!

Can't remember the exact figures from the news report, but don't forget that what is 'happening', actually happened 100,000 years ago in a galaxy far, far away...

Haha, i love the Exit Mundi site. The "Assimilate!" article cracks me up every time.

I wonder how much power we could harness from such a ray.... Stargate style.

Well obviously we could destroy planet atmospheres and if that wasn't enough probably give everyone on the planet cancer.

That was fun fun, reading about baby black holes.

Quote: "There will be no explosions or woes of agony -- all that is sucked up too."

That's wonderful game material...

The galaxy death beam is crazy. From here it looks like a concentrated beam, but in reality it's probably hundreds of light years in diameter. Wouldn't it suck to look into space and see the ass end of a beam heading right for us? It would still take forever to get here, but we'd be able to put accurate Doomsday counters on our Myspace pages.

I read 3 articles on that Exit Mundi site, interesting reads.

As for the video, I do think it would have been a good idea if they created the simulation accurate to the photo.

But this proves that Luke Skywalker is an idiot, all he did by blowing up the death star was create a death blackhole - instead of blowing up planets it can blow up galaxies and suck them and tear them apart. By destroying the beast he's made monsters so the Jedis will be so owned!

Of course it's thousands of lightyears away so I should be talking in the past tense...Oh well.

I love Nancy DrewG, but not insert brain here
