Ok I've noticed that allot of the models in X10 are a bit 'Thick'
for lack of a better term than their x9 counterparts. Is there
anyway to control this? here is what I'm talking about. Take a
look at Aiko in this pic. SHe been eating all the new features?
.Because it looks like it's going strait to her hips. LOL

I see what you mean.
She's must have gobbled down a few burgers on her way to the X10 entity folder LOL,

Rofl , I think that's the fault of the screen resolution.

Rise and shine Fpsc x10...rise and shine.

Can you post pictures so we can see the diffrence as I dont feel it is a resolution problems as this was taken on my machine and all the x10 chars look ok the same as the other screenshots, plus looking at Fiberfrag screenshots she looks just the same thickness.

I've noticed a strange outline around the models, particularly noticable in cheese cakes thread.
Whats with that? It cant just be a ghost of previous frame as it encompasses the entire character,it may be the biped, maybe they re-rigged all the old stock models.

I wanna know what happened to her texture . Is it just me or does that texture look twice as sharp in x9?

I don't get this... Is the one on the right in x9? or X10?

@ rolfy:

Could that be a bug with the LOD system? I mean, it could be an almost transparent medium detail version. That's what it looks like to me, based on the screenies.

darimc.
Those are the texture settings...
I think the one in the screenie is set to low.
It is changable...low, medium, high.

I must say, this is one thing that both frustrates and confuses me.

X10 always runs in your native resolution. So it's not a resolution problem.

That said, it seems like when X10 is running in a certain resolution, it actually stretches everything to fit to the res instead of widening the field of view. If I'm write, this is a huge problem that should theoretically be easily fixed so I'm hoping it's resolved in an upcoming patch.

you are correct, and the sad thing is that it has no lighting or shaders on it and it's at 256x256 quality.

yes.

KK I cant see it being a res problem because three diffrent machines at the same point in this thread look exact the same.

One by chupa is also at a higher res and one is by my machine.

The aiko picture above is on high everything but there no lightmap's in the picture.

It would be nice if people who saying there models are fine to post picture's and your graphics card you using so we can compare.

To be fair the picture above seems to not be right with detail, this is the same shot and setting but this time its taken the picture right.

Also, the field of vision seems way to wide. When you turn your head in the game, objects skew way too much. For example an object is straight | and when you turn your head, it is slanted \.

Wouldn't the thickness be caused by the aspect ratio? So if you have a widescreen with an aspect ration of 16:9, maybe FPSC X10 doesn't recognize this and stretches everything. Other aspect ratios are 3:2 and 4:3.

I have a widescreen monitor which, after playing a game made in FPSC X10, seems to stretch things. I love the monitor, but it can be a pain with games...

S4 is right , that's not the fault of the resolution.
I have done few tests and it seems that's just the new engine..

I sincerely hope this gets straitened out, if not then my x10 future will be over before my order even arrives. I mean I'm a modeler and if I can't trust my models to look like they do when in my modeling program what else am I to do? It's not just characters it everything. I saw a door posted and it was almost square rather than its x9 rectangle counterpart. Hope this becomes an easy fix as I already purchased my copy. I planned on a port of GraveDanger to x10 but now it would just ruin the look of it.

X9 still has some life left in it especially with new shaders being developed for it, so right now I'm sticking with that. Not really intrested in making a fat stubby game.

Just giving this a slight bump, as I really hope some progress has been made. My copy still hasn't arrived yet, not that I have the abilaty to use it at the moment. If anybody has had any progress in this area please let me know, as I sincerely want to use x10, just not in its current rendering state.
