It was an untitled project for ages, i think it looks pretty decent, even if it is just another movie about new york getting attacked by a giant monster.

Monster crashes down to new york and starts destroying it.
Seemingly indestructable.
Weakness found.
Monster Died.
People Rejoice.

Here's another trailer. Looks like the movie is filmed in a sort of Dogma 95 way.

Here's a little something from Wikipedia I found interesting:
"The casting process was carried out in secret, with no script being sent out to candidates. With production estimated to have a budget of $30 million, filming began in mid-June in New York. One cast member indicated that the film would look like it cost $150 million because the producers did not cast recognizable and expensive actors. ...shot in digital video using hand-held video cameras..."

From what I've seen of the trailers it looks good but the "being there" feel might get a bit boring, or might be successful. The choice of not using expensive actors may result in bad acting, hopefully the director can handle it.

ya its all filmed in the form of a digital camera but the reason i think it looks so good is because its leaving evreyone in the dark
with no plot on the web no pictures of the monster
noone actually didnt know the title until the seccond trailer!

Digital Camera? Just as long as it isn't another Blair Witch project...

Seems interesting, but I wonder if it'll be anything special - the secrecy suggests it is - but it's just a stunt to draw more interest, I hope it'll deliver a result worth the hype.

I've been following this online for the past few months, since I saw the teaser. There's something called an arg - alternate reality game - and it's being used to market the movie in a viral kinda way over the internet, very interesting stuff I have to say. Anyway really looking forward to the movie, it looks good.

If you haven't checked it out already have a look at www.01-18-08.com and study the pictures for a good while
