First one was a very cheesy, poor film in my opinion.

The main thing that made the film less enjoyable was the blatant patriotic US feel to it. I have no objections to the US, and I think it's a great country, but I found the historical events related to in the film were difficult to 'care' about as such

I love the first one, definitely will be seeing the second. Hopefully it will be as good. Lol, just because it doesn't have non-stop violence and profanity doesn't mean you should be ashamed for liking it .

I too liked the first one, it was accompanied by a nice soundtrack. Good music enhances a movie, much like it does to games. Didn't know a second one was in the making.... Better go watch it then.

I definately want to see it. I totally liked the first one, and remember dying until it came out because I definately related to the first one when the guy talks about the room where the constitution is at, and says, "they'll be a family from Iowa, annoying 8th grade kids on school field trips, etc, etc"

At that time I either finished eightgrade and was in ninth, or something similar. I remember that exact room too, when I got the honor of visiting D.C.

Grandma said it, the first one had a perfect soundtrack. I still have that music it on my PC somewhere. The film was entertaining enough and personally, I never felt it was blatantly patriotic. I mean heck, the guys' an American researching an American mystery. What did you expect?

I thought it was a great movie and quite epic as well. I loved the humour, the clever thefts and the quick dialogue between the three mains.

Sometimes I only buy a game/movie because of the soundtrack.

I liked the first one, my family will go see the 2nd one, so I will go too.

I'll probably go see it.

is it just me, or did the first one start out like a horror movie, with the grandpa telling some story 'on a night, much like tonight'

The first one was over the top absurd, and was a total ripoff of 'The Divinci Code'. I felt like I was watching 'The Divinci Code: 0.5', except that there was comic relief.

I read The Divinci Code long ago, and I didn't like it one bit. Though he presented some interesting historical 'adventures', the novel was one melodramatic caper after another. The core idea was very shocking and new, but the book sucked.

After that movie bombed, they should have canned any projects that weave Americas founding fathers into secret black cloak societies and global conspiracy theories.

I like Nicolas Cage, though, so I couldn't hate the movie.

I dont like Nic cage, which makes the movie worse for me. To me he's really wooden and even when he's playing radically different characters (in two different movies), they seem pretty much the same. He's a one trick pony, imo. I am Caster Troy btw .. woooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!! Having said that, I saw Next a while back, and he didn't annoy me in that. Probably down to good directing.

But his hair was HORRIBLE!!! Why would his hair be so bad if it could just be better? Couldn't he see how bad it would look if he chose that hairstyle that morning? Wouldn't he be like "Oh, in two minutes my hair is going to suck, I should fix it?"

I think that Nicolas's strength is that he brings humble charm to his characters. Some of the most charming actors are one trick ponies - every time Brad Pitt or Tom Cruise are in a movie, it's like they're a reincarnation of every character they've ever been, right down to the faces and grunts they make. I like both of them, but I think that Nic is a better actor.

Maybe he was working on the assumption that, if at any point during the day 2mins into the future, someone said his hair sucked, he could quickly stick a hat on.

I think the first one was okay, but there aren't many Nicolas Cage movies that I do like, partially because I don't think much of him with his roles, but Lord of War definitely suited him and so did National Treasure. (sort of)

Which I find quite interesting, as the movie was trying to address certain issues - I think it's quite cool that they made a relationship between the villain and the audience with that one, yet at the end you feel sorry for him and want to hug him, but at the same time you hate the wrong doings addressed in the movie more and wish it to be different. Basically he's a victim of himself and the corruption of others. I think the movie was very well done and Nicolas cage did a spiffing job of his role.

Shame he hasn't followed that trend through all of his movies. I think seeing National Treasure after lord of War kind of put his acting in that movie a bit down for me - hence I think it's an 'okay' movie, with NT2, if I know my sequels, it might not be good as the original (except the first two weeks when everybody says it's better and realise later that it's not)
