Free websites are terrible for selling products. They're usually flooded with adverts, the URL's are way too long, they don't offer enough storage space or bandwidth, they tend to drive customers away... really, the list goes on and on. If you're distributing freeware games, that's one thing, but if you want Cliffzo Games to be a company and not just a hobby, free hosted websites aren't an option.
If you want to have a commercial website where you're selling stuff, I
strongly recommend you dish out $10 per month and get a paid hosting solution.
A Plus's Solo XR package is cheap, includes two free domains, and has more than enough features to get you up and running. And you can pay monthly instead of dishing out hundreds of dollars and paying for a full year in advance. And if you can afford that, you get a discount for paying up front, so it's even cheaper.
If you aren't too great with web design, no worries: you can hire a web designer (like Agent Dink who posted in this thread, whose awesome at web design). And if you can't afford to do that, you could download and use
Nvu, a free, open-source web editor with most of the same features that expensive, professional web editors like Dreamweaver have. Its got a drag-and-drop interface, rediculously simple commands, an easy-to-navigate UI... all in all, it's about as difficult to use as MS Word, lol. And if you want to include your own HTML or PHP code, it's got a built-in interface for doing that and making it easy. There's options out there for making a cheap website if you know where to look, and now you do
. And again, a free hosting service is no match for even the cheapest paid-for service!
