Hello all!

Merry Christmas and a very happy new year to you all!

For a little project that I'm working on, I want to get a lot of completely random internet sites' https. In other words, the user hits a button and then he gets a list of, say, 50 internet sites. I want this list to be completely random and dynamic so I don't want to do anything such as create a data file filled with internet sites and then just do a randomized search of it. Instead, I'd prefer it to be more like going on google and clicking the "I feel lucky" button 50 times.

I also don't want any dodgy internet sites - nothing offensive or illegal.

I'm wondering whether anyone knows of a really good way of doing this? Are there any free resources on the web that I could link to?

Before you ask, I'll write the code to do this in VB.Net. I don't need any help with the code. I'm just looking for ideas for resources that I could use to populate my list of 50 completely random sites.

Cheers!

Phil

Merry Christmas Philip, and I hope your project comes along nicely.

I also second the suggestion of stumbleupon

Thanks for the ideas.

I've looked at stumbleupon and it's certainly along the lines of what I'm after. But I don't see how I can use it to generate multiple random websites dynamically (i.e. in runtime). Does it have a feed or other data stream that I can tap into?

If you really have a lack of life, you could parse the results or so. I'd have no idea how, though.

Just make a random word generator, or steal one/hijakc one, then make a list of fifty or so strings, each with "http://" on the front and ".com/org/gov/tv/info/net" on the end.
