He was simply stating that X-mas was becoming too commercial. That being said, you can buy my book "X-mas is becoming too commercial" at www.christmasisbecomingtoo.com/mercial for $14.95.

I was joking, but making a point. I love Christmas. It brings our family together, we put up big bright decorations and we get to bat away carollers.

But Christmas is too commercial. I might write a blog post about this, so I won't use up all my good stuff here.

People who say 'عيد ميلاد سعيد' usually celebrate Christmas on the 6th/7th of January, BTW, as does a large part of the Eastern Orthodox Church.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Oopss--- maybe I can't say Happy New Year when there could be Chinese who celebrate the New Year in February, and they might be offended

You see, this is silly. Ahhhh good times--- modern times can be so fun sometimes.

Nobody was offended, just wondered if anyone knew that so thought I'd throw up a fact I just found out about.

I know some muslims who also celebrate christmas today, because they are tolerant and want to integrate.

So, I wish everyone a merry christmas and a great new year, full of commercial quality games.

And Germany! Don't forget the Germans!

What's with this 'Happy Holidays' Business? So that they don't offend people by saying 'Merry Christmas?' What sort of reverse logic is that?

Heh, surprising the american style "Happy holidays" or "Seasons greetings" haven't taken off here. *Shudder*. Hell, I've even had Indians, Pakistanis, and all different religions wishing me Merry Christmas (and giving cards) where I used to work. At the end of the day it's only a word, and everyone likes a day off. My utterly anti-religious Yugoslavian friend even said "I do not understand. The true meaning of Christmas is food" when I mentioned the clue was in the name....

Cheers

I am 99% probably lying in bed right now... so don't blame me for crappy typing

@james - I know that probably took you a long time to do, but I removed it because it took 5 seconds to scroll through

We had a pretty good company party this holiday. They rented out the Vancouver Aquarium so we ate sushi while we watched the belugas swim around. I would have thought sushi would be offensive to the fish, but I guess not.

They called it a Holiday Cocktail party instead of Christmas Party, and they had it on November 30th just so people won't associate it with Christmas, and they had magicians, tattoo artists, caricature artists, and fortune tellers. Too PC, but the party was great

Sounds like an excuse for everyone to start clamouring for a Christmas Party as well next year.

We finally opened our presents - I got:
CDs-
Apocalyptica - Cult
Opeth - Roundhouse Tales
Iced Earth - Frame Armageddon
Books-
The Tractatus Logico Philosophocus by Ludwig Wittgenstein
The Orgins of the British by Oppenheimer
Japanese recipe book for noodles with Chopsticks
DVDs-
Flushed Away
Simpsons Movie
Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey (far out!)
Saw III

With more to come.

My brother went and got expensive gifts for the parents, A Nikon D90 (I think it was the D90) for my mum - basically an expensive camera for the peasants out there. And my Dad a Gibson Les Paul - for those living in a cave, an expensive guitar.

So what you crazy Christmasy cheese-mugs get?
