Has anyone played a game where the enemy is The Grim Reaper himself?
Death was in the Discworld games but he wasn't really the enemy I don't think.

How would you beat Death?

Become someone like Micheal Myers and work for the Reaper until you can finally kill him.-----

Become Death's boss, and tell him his next assignment is himself.

That, or sacrifice one of your potion vials. (Only hardcore Gauntlet fans will get this )

The only way to truly beat death would be to make some sort of bet/deal with it, and win. Kinda like a deal with the devil, same basic concept I'd think.

Or if you could somehow manage to steal death's scythe or whatever tool it uses, it probably has supernatural powers and could therefore kill death. But that would mean the player would have/get to assume the new role of death.

Hmmm. Good point. Can't remember. Sure there would have been at least one game. Seem to remember a horror type game on the Speccy that might fit the bill...

In Grim Fandango you were death. Or at least a grim reaper I think. Close, but not your enemy.

Much better to be death in a game IMHO. Lots of fun to reap those souls. Hmmm. Not a bad game idea...

As for beating death, what about a final destination type game? You know you peg it around avoiding buses from killing you and kitchen items from causing a domino effect and slicing your head off. Cool.

Hmmm. Both of those ideas sound like mighty interesting game ideas... Damn, wish I had more time....

Oooh yeah, a Bill and Ted type battle with Death. You know, best out of three. Ok, best out five. Make it seven Dude...

Cheers

Despite the fact that in every book there was a main character specifically for that book, the discworld series was basically about Death. AND HE WAS GREAT. HE TALKED IN ALL CAPS. CLASSIC.

YES. HE WAS IN THE NEW BOOK TOO.

But he was only in most books for a brief period. Recently no more than a few paragraphs. Not really "discworld series was basically about Death". Only character thats in all the Discworld books though.

Shame what is happening to him though...

Cheers

Of course. And Soul Music, and a few others too. But there are like 20+ books, so not exactly "discworld series was basically about Death".

Like the new book BTW? I'm half way in, and it's not bad. Not great though. Wish he would go back to Rincewind sometime soon. Really soon considering his condition.

Cheers

Haven't heard that he's written a new one, what's it called?

Making money (about banks with Moist the guy from the post office). It isn't that new though. Couple of months old I think. Well pricey here though (couldn't be bothered to order online). Cost me about £25/$50 in hardback.

Hopefully he can get a few more out before being too ill...

Cheers
