Ive looked and looked and tried and tried, but I just cant get it. I want to make a keypad script where you walk up type in numbers and the door opens. I also want to be able to see what numbers I am typing in. This is a very important part in my game, but I just cant figure it out. Ive tried Xplosy's script, and the other one, cant remember who it was made by. So if anyone could step up and help me, it would be helpful. Plus I will make some kind of texture for you if you would like. Thats how important it is.

So please help,

Corky

I remember someone, i think it was Plystire, who made a PGPS Winter contest game, and he had a modded version of Xplosys script.Although, it might've been Airslide,......Check both.

ok I tried both and got them both working fine. It's extremely simple. to set up.
*1- Place a 'remote door' in the level where you want it.
*2- Place a switch next to the door (scifi switch 5 is great for this)
*3- Rightclick the switch to bring up its propperties.
*4- Makesure 'If Used' is set to 'Remote Door'
--- Make sure the 'Main' script is one of the 2 available scripts
--- Set 'Sound0' to the sound you want for a successful number hit.
--- Set 'Sound1' to an unsucessful number hit
*5- Save and Test.

Both work great. The one from Airslide accually resets if you press the wrong number wich is pretty cool. The one from Xplosys is a bit easier to customize. Airslide's is pretty easy to set up as well since he already did the work for ya, its just a little more involved. So they both have great advantages. Hope that helps.

Lol, sorry, bud, but I made my own.

@Corky:
Here's a bit of pseudo-code for what you're going after:

1) Check for a keypress.
2) Create a HUD showing the number that was pressed and position it into the first number slot
3) Repeat steps 1-2 for the rest of the keypresses.
4) If the code was correct, activate If Used.
5) If code was incorrect, play a buzzing sound and reset the script.

This would require a lot of trial and error, or a lot of thinking ahead of time. What I just stated in the steps is that you may need to create the number HUDs on the fly and only when the player presses that key.

I won't go into detail about detecting if the code was correct or not as it's been done time and again.

Good luck!
