Yeah, i've got tonnes of YouTube videos on my iPod. Here are the steps to do it:

1. Goto http://www.techcrunch.com/get-youtube-movie
2. Enter the YouTube link into the box there
3. Click Download Link and download the YouTube movie in .FLV format
4. Get a program called Free Studio Manager, from a company called DVDVideoSoft. That program has an app in it which can convert .FLV files to .MP4 files.

Hope that helped!

Step 1: Get rid of your iPod
Step 2: Watch YouTube on the internet or PSP.

You could try this site: http://vixy.net/

I tried it one hour ago, the online thing didn't work but the downloadable version (http://vixy.net/app/download/windows) was fast and did a great job.

I use that-The online version sometimes works!
But anyway isn't it against youtubes T&C's to download their videos?

Also you could try Real player 11 Beta for downloading the vids-it doesn't convert them but it will download any video on the web!

Whereabouts is it saying invalid file? In the TechCrunch site? Ok, try these steps:

1. Goto http://mytube.kuso.cc/~kuso/youtube/
2. Enter the YouTube link into the box there
3. Click Download Link and download the YouTube movie in .FLV format
4. Get this program : http://www.dvdvideosoft.com/products/dvd/Free-YouTube-to-iPod-Converter.htm - or a direct link to the file here - http://www.dvdvideosoft.com/download/FreeYouTubeToiPodConverter.exe
5. Convert the .FLV to .MP4 using that program, it's really simple to convert, just open the .FLV file in it, and click Convert.

Good luck!

I think it's one of the sites you can forget. YouTube recently got "updated" and some of the sites don't work with it anymore... But vixy works...

Use the "Download Helper" plugin for firefox. You can download any embedded videos.

Personally, I use Orbit downloader (gets embedded FLVs) and then I use win32 ffmpeg to convert them to mp4
