So I actually did buy a new tv, Sony KDS-50A3000, it's being delivered tomorrow morning. Now I gotta find a good stereo receive, as my 70's Sansui is a tad out of date. Suggestions anyone? I'd love to get some B&W speakers as well, but haven't quite found them at a price I'm willing to pay.

Also, I paid way less than the advertised price. Amazon was selling that TV for $1300, so I printed that out and went into HH Gregg on wednesday (day after christmas sales) and they already had the tv on sale for $1480. I showed them amazon's receipt and they said they'd meet half way and marked it down to $1370! I even bought a Toshiba HD-A30 player for $4 under Amazon's price. Granted I still had to pay tax, delivery of the tv was $20 cheaper than Amazon. But if anything goes wrong with delivery or I need a replacement, it's much easier dealing with a local store than shipping items back to amazon, especially a 75lb package. My dad bought a 52" Hitachi 1080i years back from the same store.

If you order and accept a big screen from Amazon.com there is no returning it once you've signed for it (and tested that it turns on). You'd have to deal with the manufacturer directly from then on out.

They came at 8am this morning, ugh! Was hoping they didn't come until 10 or so, but they called and I was first on the list this morning. I order some monster cable 1000-series component and hdmi cables that should be on their way next week. Went to ebay where they're half the price, but still a lot.
