I'm looking to make a simple web site with a free web host. I searched, but there are so many, and instead of taking the time to read through them all. I figure I would ask here. What are some of the best free web hosting that you know of. I'm not looking for anything fancy, I'll be making my pages in notepad, so it doesn't need a page builder. I'd rather a host that does not force ads on my pages. Downtime is also an issue, even though they all guarantee 99.99% up time. No trial periods, or when they take down the website if its been inactive for a little bit of time. Should have at least 100 MB storage, more bandwidth for visitors is better. Um, ya, so what are some of the best free web hosts that you know of.

I have a webbsite up an running on unlhosting. They do put advertisement on the sites, but they are small text at the bottom of the page and I think the free edition is about 200-300 mb. Plus that they are (according to themselves) very stable. I have never had my site down, but I havenĀ“t been on it for a while either, soo...

Darkness, you haunt me. If I give in, I would be an monster beyond imagining. Light, you guide me. Thanks to you, I see past the nothingness. Life, I choose to live in the light.

Check out trap17, you can choose 2 options I believe, 1 of em is to have a text ad and free hosting, and the other is where you have to post on forums to get hosting credits (much simpler that it sounds) and to maintain your website. The nice thing about this hosting service is that they actually offer you the space and bandwidth that they can support, not some fairyland unlimited crap. Seriously, check them out, the speed of my website is just amazing (compared to the years of where I tried freewebs and lycos...oh wow).
