If a packet hits a pocket on a socket on a port,
And the bus is interrupted as a very last resort,
and the address of the memory makes your floppy disk abort,
Then the socket packet pocket has an error to report!

If your cursor finds a menu item followed by a dash,
And the double-clicking icons put your window in the trash,
And your data is corrupted 'cause the index doesn't hash,
Then your situation's hopeless, and your system's gonna crash!

If the label on your cable on the gable at your house,
Says the network is connected to the button on your mouse,
But your packets want to tunnel to another protocol,
That's repeatedly rejected by the printer down the hall.

And your screen is all distorted by the side effects of gauss,
So your icons in the window are as wavy as a souse,
Then you may as well reboot and go out with a bang,
'Cause as sure as I'm a poet, the sucker's gonna hang!

When the copy of your floppy's getting sloppy on the disk,
And the microcode instructions cause unnecessary RISC,
Then you have to flash your memory and you'll want to RAM your ROM,
Quickly turn off your computer and be sure to tell your mom!

I don't think he tried to present it as his own work, people. Jeez, do we always have to assume ripping? We do? Oh.

No but honestly, pretty fun stuff.

Hehe, that's pretty good. I can relate to it as I grew up on Dr. Suess books.

Then maybe he should have credited it

I'd be pissed if someone posted something of mine without giving credit.

Google it. Most sites have no idea who wrote it. Some dude named Gene Ziegler wrote it, in any case..

Ignorance of the author is no excuse to post it up somewhere as your own. You yourself found out who wrote it, so can the people who instead choose to blindly plagiarize it.

And it's not "obvious", Game King couldn't tell the difference. And the only reason I knew he didn't write it is because I know how Phaelax writes. (No offense of course aimed at you Phaelax, well, except for the plagiarism thing)

I'm not really all that offended that Phaelax posted it without credit, I'm just offended that you (or anybody) would try and justify it.

Oh, and the fact that the plagiarized copy is butchered from the original, that one kind of ticks me off.

Never seen it before on myspace. I found it on http://www.amazingjokes.com/, which gave no author to credit.

I just thought it was funny, now we're in a debate about telling jokes?

JEEZ, people are getting so uptight about credits and rights and plagiarism and flame wars!!!! Just relax for at least 3 seconds! The guy tries to tall a joke(which was hilarious by the way) and PRESTO!!! Insta flame!

Get a life people.

Very funny Phaelax, especially since my dad used to got to Japan and take back students to teach English and American history to, so me and my brother would read the Dr. Seuss Books.

This thread is getting too off-topic (even though this is and off-topic forums) and if a mod came, he/she (are there any girl mods at all?) would lock it.

Seriously, how do you make the little blue text come up below your message?
