I don\'t know how to stack objects on top of one another... what I mean is that lets say I placed a desk or table on the floor, how would I place an object like a telephone or desk lamp on top of it?

First of all, welcome to the forum

As Cram says the easy way to do it is to place above (aligne) the object which you want to place on top of something and then hit 'Enter' on your keyboard.
This will bring the object to the top surface of the other object (table).

Also mentioned, this is all covered in the FPSC manual which I suggest you read because you will find the answers to most of your questions much quicker.

All the best of luck
