Why do all my alpha's cut hard instead of blending with the actually transparency i implent.. i use PNG since thats the only result ive actually gotten transparency with. If i use DXT5 or Targa with alpha all my texture gets 100% transparent.. Invisible. Ive tried the tutorials etc..

I use Photoshop and Transparency 2

this should be in chat.

I dont think fpsc supports alpha channels, well not for transparency, only 1 bit ones, wow what a suprise, fpsc doesnt support featutes every other engine wouldnt even mark as a feature as they are such basic requiremets.

So I think png may be the only option, does fpsc support those, I didnt think it did. What are the decals, they look like they have above 1 bit transparency.

I use PNG format for transparancy.
One method is to just place your image on a transparent layer in photoshop then 'merge visible' and save as PNG (remember to untick 'save as copy' in order to preserve the transparancy).

It works OK for some things depending on what you are doing.
Hard edges are quite a problem to overcome as I have found out when using FPSC and transparancy.
Using 'this' method I have found that it is best not to use the .DDS format.

It's just another way to use.

I hope this helps in some way.
