Hey guys!

I have been working on this game for 1/5 months now and want to know, if it is worth finishing and how much you would pay for a game like this.

I greatly appreciate any comments to improve the game.

regards, TheComet

It's unlikely that anyone will download a 10MB executable file without knowing anything about it - especially with all the trojans about these days.

You need to tell us what it's about and include some screenshots.

But, then it becomes a WIP which means it doesn't belong here - but on the WIP board instead...

I think your right. But who is crazy enough to put a virus into a gamecreators forum?

And about the 10mb... That`s just Darkbasic. It doesn`t compress the files in it...

My game is called "UFO-Party". You are a UFO and you challenge the other players(probably sitting right next to you) with one of 30 mini games(only 3 are finished). How you control the players is included in the "readme" file.

That`s pretty much it.

Here`s the new link for the game:

The Source code is included...

Instructions for games
==========================

UFO-Breakout:
Like a normal Breakout, only four playing at a time. Hit the bricks at the top to make them change to your color. The one with the most bricks their color in the end wins.

Brick shift:
Jump across the moving bricks without falling down. The one that gets to the other side first wins.

Light ship:
Move your UFO over the colored tiles to make them change to your color. Collect the force beams from the sky to get cool power-ups. You can also teleport through the green circles. The one with the most tiles their color wins.

And thats that!

I'm not sure if it's included in all distributions of DarkBASIC but I have a folder path Dark Basic\Extras\Compression . Inside the compression folder are a few examples of compressing program assets/media and a couple of dlls to help with the process.

Enjoy your day.

Fun! It's not perfect although I might play it more often if you made a couple things better, like mouse controls aren't the best. Which is why I changed the controls so that player 2 uses wasd (q for jump) controls!

[EDIT] Looks like the code was too big to fit in a code snippet. Here is the DBA file up for download.

@Latch

Yes, I have that folder, but you have to compress it with DarkBasic as far as I know. My version does not read dll`s.

The Download version of my game seems not to have any music. How is that with you?

@Sinani201

No, I didn`t make the music. I got it from this website:

http://www.xs4all.nl/~mon/download.htm

I think the music they make is awesome!

It`s good that you have music. My computer has a compression error and the program looses it`s music when you compress it.

Do you guys think it`s worth finishing and celling?

Yes, I think it can be awesome if you make the AI a bit better. You can cell it if you can find a way to make it popular, and you cell it on a website that spells everything correctly . And, please make the SLIKI SOFTWARE Logo fade faster! I altered it out of the program because I was so annoyed! BTW, I might try out making my own minigame. Wish me luck!

Hehe, when I was making the game on the menu screen, I tested and I was able to play explosive buttons!!!!!!! It's so fun! But the computer doesn't make any moves...
Anyways, the minigame I am attempting to make is called Spike Dodge, where you walk around, and a line of spikes are trailing you. If you touch the spikes you are eliminated from the round, and the last person standing is the winner. There is no time in the game, you play until the game is over.

@Sinani201

That sounds cool, mate! How about making this game open-source?

Everyone can do changes to the game or make new mini-games and post them here and at the end, we have a finished game.

So, anyone that want`s to join, just visit this thread and post your ideas.

Thank you in advance!

Just a thought - I could see this kind of "genre" doing very well as a Java Game in Websites ... Increased Exposure!

Adding my game to the menu screen messed up one thing, but it doesn't effect the actual gameplay, don't worry. Now that it's on the menu, I can start making the game! It's going to be called spike dodge, where you walk around with spikes trailing you. If you run into a spike, you are eliminated. Whoever is the last one standing is the winner.

I have an Idea! Everyone that want`s to join in and make their own mini-game, post it here when it`s finished and at the end, we will have a game good enough to sell! Of course you all get your shares in the product...

That would be cool if you would all join in

OK! If I get a website I'll advertise for this game. I wont just put it in a boring sponsors section the no one clicks on. I'll talk about it on the forums. But that's only when my game gets released.
Although I think this should be moved to the WIP forum, like what TDK said.

It kind of is open source already, as you included the source in the download file.
