http://www.xbox.com/en-US/hardware/compare101.htm?WT.svl=nav

Pro's and Con's to buying the Elite::

Pro's
3 Core Processors as compared to 1
Comes with the HDMI cables and what not
100gb more space on hard drive
**ITS ALL BLACK** (wicked cool)

Con's
It's $100 more

So I need your help here. You tell me this; would you pay $100 of your own money for those Pro's above?

I'd do it simply because you can't upgrade it later without buying a whole new system if you changed your mind.

You should buy the Elite Simply because:
http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-360-120GB-Hard-Drive/dp/B000OYKQBU

I find you run out of space pretty fast just 20GB. Especially now that you can download original xbox games etc, demos, videos updates.

To buy the 120GB HDD separate is $170, you are basicaly getting a lot more for less if you go for the elite instead.

To be honest though you are not going to notice a difference with a hdmi output or not. (well, if you had a massive screen)

The two consoles have the same number of processors running at the same speed

Ahh, yes you guys are right. I guess I'll fork out for the Elite.

List of games to buy:
Halo 3*
Assassins Creed*
Call of Duty 4
Devil May Cry 4
Grand Theft Auto 5
Grand Tourismo (newest one)
Saints Row 2

EDIT:

Oh yes, btw, may a mod please change my name to Xenocythe again? Sorry, it'll be the last name change ever.

Why did you change it in the first place if you're just changing it back now? Hehehe.

I'm pretty sure that's incorrect

There's a reason why users are not allowed to change their names any longer. I won't change it on principle, as I changed it to your current name

I got an Elite, trust it woops the *** off of my mates Core when we play on Xbox Live, that little extra processing power is all that i need to stay one step ahead.

Also i got somewhere in the region of 20 musin albums, 14 game saves, and 50 pictures without nearing my hard drives limits.

I don't think that's coming to the 360, unless I'm mistaken. There are rumors of the new Metal Gear Solid coming, but I'm sure GT is a PS3 only thing.

One vital 360 game you should get is Dead Rising, I'd also sway you away from Assasins Creed - I mean with CoD4 and Halo3 beside it you'd just wonder why you bothered getting Creed . - if you want that sort of gameplay then grab Prince of Persia on XBox Arcade.

less is more, but if less is more how you keeping score?

@Adam,
Yeah, i just wanted to test it uot, but its confusing alot of people and I want it back to Xenocythe... forever.

@Jeku,
No, it's true
Check out the link I showed you. Elite has 3 core processors, the normal xbox 360 only has 1.

Aww, dang I'd really like my name back to the original... Xenocythe.. and I promise I'll never ask for a change again!

@coffee grunt,
Thanks I guess you are right- I'll get the elite.

@Van B,
Those rumors are incorrect Metal Gear Solid is going to stick with Playstation forever.

Meh, I can live without Grand Tourismo.

And, man, why is everyone insane? Assassins Creed is an AMAZING game! It's like Prince of Persia on speed! I've completed the Prince of Persia Series already. I loved the first hour of Assassins creed I played, and I intend to finish it. For people who say the battle system sucks... no, my friend. The battle system is just realistic enough for YOU to have to actually learn it- and since your a lazy bum, your not gonna learn it and instead your gonna give up and say it sucks!
The graphics are great, the storyline is really interesting, and the game-play is through the roof.

I thought the Elite just had a bigger hard drive nothing else.

Yes it's painted black but you can get case mods of a spray can.

XBox 360 always had 3 processors.

Also could of swore it always had HDMI too, just you need to buy the right cable.

If your into online games the hard drive is a must 20gb fills up fast. If you're a solo gamer you don't need it. Sadly you can't just drop your own hard drive in there I think it complains you're a cheat/pirate and stops your access to XBox live if you fiddle around with anything. It will only let you use USB pen drives and USB hard drives to play MP3 off. Not to extend storage, I wasn't expecting that!

Did you hear MS are going to give everyone a free XBox live game to say sorry for the bandwidth issuses they had this Christmas?

GatorHex is correct:

The 360 ALWAYS had 3 cores. Believe me, I programmed on the original system and we had one core focusing on physics, one on rendering, and another on AI. It's always had 3 cores.

The Elite is NOT faster. Yes, it has native HDMI output support, and yes it has a bigger hard drive. But the games do not run faster.

If you're experiencing huge gains on your game, then send the original back to MS while it's still under warranty

Quote: "Check out the link I showed you."

I checked out the link, and nowhere does it say the Elite has 3 cores while the others do not. In fact, it doesn't appear to even mention 3 cores.

EDIT:

Added a wikipedia reference and if you look on the sidebar you'll see the reference to the Xenon 3-core CPU.

I'm not gona upgrade from a Premium, just waiting for the XBox 720

Microsoft want control of your living room and I doubt they want Sony/BlueRay getting a hold so I recon it's closer than people expect.

The premiums now come with HDMI output as well so really all your getting over the premium with the elite is the extra drive space and a cool black box. If you feel like you'll need the space get it, otherwise I'd say stick with the premium.

Doesn't the Elite have a different chipset (90mm?) than the original Xbox360? I heard it cuts down on red rings for some reason.

Could just be random condilutions of my mind, lol it's late.

Yes, different size of CPU, but the same power nonetheless. It's less resistant to the red ring epidemic, but they still occur.
