I know the chances of anything getting added to the forums right now is zilch since TGC is busy with FPSC and whatnot, but I had this idea today and didnt want to forget it, so Ill throw it out there, maybe they'll stumbled upon it in the future if enough people like it.

So basically, a lot of others, including myself, frequent these forums a lot. And I usually respond to a lot of forum posts, in most cases offering code-help, and I almost always check back on those posts to see how the user worked things out; if I helped at all or if they're still confused. The thing is I pretty much never remember what the post was called, and in what board the post was made, so I end up looking through a dozen boards and two dozen posts before I find the thing, at which point I dont care much anymore. So my idea:

Beside each forum post in the title (both when in board-view and when reading the post), there could be a button / link called something like "Watch Post". When clicked, the post is added to your own personal "board" located at either the bottom or the top of the boards page. The actual post itself wouldn't have to be copied, just a link to the post could be added in your board. Then whenever you log onto the forums you can quickly jump down to your board, and check to see if any of the posts you've been watching have been replied to.

I know there are alternatives; having an email sent to you when a post is made or just bookmarking the post, but this would make things a little easier, and add to the feel of the forums.

Do with it what you will .

There used to be an 'Add to favourites' button on each page (which I can't see any more) that would add to a list on your personal profile page.

That page still works for the few links I have on it - it'd be nice if I could add to it.

I completely forgot about that, I remember there being a little heart symbol or something but I hadn't seen it in so long it slipped my mind. Wonder why it got removed.

The R[une]S[cape] forums used to have a useful feature where you have 'My Profile', which contained a list of all the threads you had posted in. In the RS forums, though, threads die extremely quickly, so I suppose it wouldn't be possible here. You also have to pay to use the ts forums...

It was replaced by the angry smiley face in the bottom right of ever post! He killed the heart!

Or subscribing to a user, that would also be cool.
