I there any way to change the mouse icon or i'm I stuck with the dark basic mouse icon?

hide the mouse then in your main loop position a sprite or textured plain with the new image(Depending if your working with 2d/3d) to match the mouse coordinates

you can use a sprite in 3D programs, just make sure you are drawing 2D in front of 3D

does draw to front affect any other things?
what does "It does not, however, prevent these 2D drawings from being overwritten by subsequent cycles of rendered 3D graphics" (source:help files} mean?

that means when the 3D scene is updated it will write over the 2D

A sprite in 3d can definatly work but, as I understand it, drawing a sprite over a 3d environment hits performance harder than texturing a plain and using lock object on to keep it on screen.

could be wrong though
