3 Dimensional Chat / Possibly good news for Cinema 4D users wanting to export .X and materials

After a bit of trial and error, I found that the following import and export settings are needed to get DBPro to load .X files and materials together without it crashing.

The following needs to be ticked, and everything else unticked :

Format
Save Templates
Export Textures
Save Normals

The bitmap needs to be saved as a bitmap using the same name as that used in the Material Manager. This means that bhoodiNUT, dirtyNUT, and Shaders cant be used, which is a bit of a shame as some of these are quite good.

Unfortunately Cinema doesn't export animations in .X

Indeed - and the export to .3DS cant be used either...

Cin 4D XL 7 exports to direct 3d on my mac version.

Cinema 4d exports .x files. Iv tried it.

I also use version XL7
and there are no problems, it also keeps colors.

Its does export, but DBPro doesn't like the resulting .3DS file for some reason. It doesn't mind .X files though
