FPSC Classic Scripts / shapedecal: what does it do?

I'm a bit confused with the shapedecal command. It doesn't appear to be documented correctly. Anyone know its real purpose? Is it just to conform a loaded decal to the current entity no parameters actually needed?

unsure.....

perhaps it changes the mode of the RUNDECAL?
