MarkUp is a free online magazine offered in the .PDF format created by the team over at http://www.gmking.org.

The magazine is game-oriented magazine, which has been in operation for almost a year now (Issue 12 due out shortly).

Anyway, since I distribute the newsletter I thought it'd be good to post a topic on the newsletter here to see if anybody was interested in the magazine.

Issue 11 is the most recent issue, but it's only a mini-issue because it's been dedicated to a particular GM competition, and to celebrate the New Year! Issue 10 is the most recent issue in terms of being "full size".

The magazine would probably be of interest to users of the popular game-dev software Game Maker, but even if you don't use that software, there's plenty of other gaming info to be found inside!

Anyway, here's a few of the issues (10, and the small issue 11) to get you into the newsletter!

Well, to be really, really honest, I browsed through it, but I couldn't find anything to keep my attention for really long. I guess I'm a bit of the wrong person for this mag.

It looks nice, although I'd revamp the cover.

I used to use game maker, (i thought that i could make an FPS without entering a single line of my own code, i was a n000b)

but then i ditched it for FPSC which i ditched for DBPro, and now im kinda moving onto C++

Heh, you've done a lot of ditching/changing/moving on! That's pretty much the same cycle I followed though, GM, FPSC, DBP, C++, except there's a load of languages in-between DBP and C++, like PHP and all that.

Thanks for posting anyhow.

$10 says sp3ng ditches C++ in a few months for C# when he finds out about XNA . I'm predicting your next move, hehe.

Ditch C++ for C#? Maybe he'll sell his kidney for a pack of beer as well?
