So this is probably dumb, but I just got my hands on CS3 and i am having a slight problem.

When using the pen tool how do I keep the shape I make with it after I'm done. I mean when I finish and click on another tool the curvy line I made with my pen just disappears. So is there like some other curvy line tool? Or do I just have to hit something?

Thanks.

Right click and "Fill path" or "Stroke path", for example.

The line should still stay until you delete it, though.

Guyra is correct. It sounds like you are making a 'path' rather than drawing a line. Once you have created your 'path' and have it the way you want, you can select 'stroke' and it will actually draw the line in the current ink colour at a width of your choosing.
Don't worry, you are not alone in your confusion. Photoshop isn't really classed as a drawing tool, it is really a photo manipulation package which happens to have some great painting tools inside.

Or rather I would say that Photoshop is a pixel based software and not really meant to do paths (vector graphics) like Illustrator does. Most artists that uses PS uses a tablet, other people use it mostly for image manipulation and effects.

Hmm when I right click they are both grayed out.

Edit:
Also when I use the pen/path tool it turns my "shape" into a vector mask.

It's supposed to, it's merely a vector shape drawing tool. If you want to draw general purpose things then use the brush tool.

You need to have this selected when you draw paths, in order to stroke them:

She'd go all KAME-HAME-HA if you messed with her hair.

Sorry, former addiction.

I just happened to start watching DBGT this week. And yeah, it sucks compared to the other 2. Reminds me a lot about the Freeza battle (which sucked big time). It's odd how much it reuses old ideas from both DB and DBZ.

Osiris:
I can now see that the shoulder on your image have been blurred, this is the only noticeable fault with an otherwise cool image.

Oh haha, I tried to blur it to give a feel like it was really hot or something. Guess it didn't work

The hair should be blurred to look like it's glowing/burning but the shoulder should not, especially the shoulder strap.
