While I was making a cup of tea, I was thinking about the tea leaves and if you could smoke them (Not that I smoke). So, if you can smoke the contents of a tea bag without any harm, wouldn't it be a lot cheaper for people who smoke, to buy tea bags?

Would anyone here admit that they have smoked dry tea leaves before?

So basically, if you can smoke tea leaves, it would cut the cost's people spend on tobacco and cigarettes and maybe also cut back the effects of lung damage?

There are so many different types of tea, that you wouldn't be lost for a mix of flavours, right?

People don't smoke because they like the taste, they smoke because they are addicted to nicotine - you could use the same argument for herbal cigarettes, which are used when people are trying to quit smoking, to try and ween them off the physical act of smoking.

But I think it's safe to say that most people would at least dry-vomit after smoking tea leaves!.

less is more, but if less is more how you keeping score?

You might find that they don't smoke tea leaves for the exact same reason that druggies don't inject Saline.

I smoke Cigars for the taste, not the nicotine. But you were probably talking about cigarettes.

I read a thread on another forum, just before, and people where talking about smoking tea leaves and the effects they give. It seems they make you a little high.

Yet this is just my imagination coming back, thinking up things you could do (I've started reading books again)

Great idea! On this note why not replace the catalytic converter in a car with a nice air filter that makes exhaust fumes smell nice, then pump the fumes into the car! Then you get heating, a nice smell, no unwanted fumes on the street, death, quieter vehicles etc.

It's quite funny when a topic of a bad habit (addiction) is brought up, people get so defensive.

In the words of Solid Snake, "You don't know how good a cigarette tastes in the morning."

Solid Snake is a fictional character designed to glorify smoking, as are Tom and Jerry...sorry that is the only explanation I can offer at this time, so if you like you could leave a message after the beep. Beeeep.

Anyway, as for smoking tea leaves, well I don't see the point - I mean if you're a fan of the flavour of what you smoke, then that's understandable. But other people tend to smoke for the nicotine high (then get addicted to it), and some to relieve stress or others do it 'to be cool', but from my experience that type is very few and far between.

Though I don't smoke because I don't think it's worth it, I mean if I want to 'get off' on a drug, well getting drunk or being on a caffeine high will do me - sitting for 3-4 hours in the coffee shop this morning to do group work put a lot of caffeine in me, I didn't buy any coffee, I brought my own supply of a cheap rip off of Red Bull.

It takes blood and guts to be this cool, but I'm still just a cliche

I enjoy my smoking, it relaxes me and relieves a lot of stress on tough projects. I do also like the taste, if you compare cheap brand cigarettes to dearer cigarette brands you will notice this, much like rolling your own cigarettes tends to have a sweeter taste compared to factory rolled ones and you also have the choice of different flavours of papers and tobaccos(i'm like a kid alone in a sweet shop when i go to buy them(in a weird sordid way)).

Thats not to say i don't know people who are truly addicted (maybe i am) but i know people who smoke, yet tell me they hate the taste and the way it makes them feel, its one of the few pleasures i have left (apart from driving and the other 'obvious' ones, but petrol prices are making sure i don't enjoy that as much anymore.).

I have a memory of smoking tea from a teabag. Either I did it, I watched someone else do it or it never happed. At any rate the tea burnt hotter/faster than tobacco resulting in a burnt mouth.

Tea from a tea bag is pretty fine, not at all like rolling tobacco. Perhaps if you prepared it differently it would work better.

By way of demonstration, he emitted a batlike squeak that was indeed bothersome.

Or drinking it. Not that it really tastes much different to warm mud. It's only popular amongst we Brits because the heating killed pathogens back in the olden days, and no-one understood why. Had it been drank cold, it would have been lost to history like it should have been.

You fail to recognize the marketability of Lipton's Lemon-flavored nicotine patch. Or Earl Gray nicotine gum! Tell me that doesn't sound as yummy as yummy can get.

I just choose to not smoke... easier all around. I save a ton of money. I avoid pointless headaches. I don't risk the possible health implications, especially compounded upon what I breathe in almost daily... I already inhale enough crap as it is at work... My house and clothes won't be smelly (sorry Matt, but it's true )... ummm... they're expensive...

Oh, so you have smoked tea leaves then? Nothing interesting happened? Didn't get high? No? Ok.

@Veron

Get him to snort it like it's cocaine and make him say some thing like "say hello to my little friend".
