Ok For those that have been waiting for an updated version with less glitches...lol. Here is my QMusic Editor App.

Fixes in this release....
1. Sound delay is now run from the cpu clock...not the sync rate
2. well....i guess thats all i fixed so far....lol
oh boy....i think im slacking off lately...
haha

Anyways its usable and fun to try making some tunes on so try it out.

My include file im in the process of re-doing. Dont worry it will be released on this page soon.

User notes:
1. The recording is a pain in the ass to set up so i dont suggest using it.
2. If you know all the tricks use sound recorder to record the music while playing it. Then edit it and save as wav file.
3. The best format is going to be as it saves....so use my include file in your games.
4. I have done testing and as long as your song tempo isn't too crazy fast...processing the song will not impact your fps.
(it updates from the cpu clock ...not your framerate)
5. The cut and paste stuff....its a pain...lol but you will figure out how to use it and it works...
(just dont paste over your selected notes....or you will loose them)

Runtime notes:
1. Notes dont play without instrument files loaded !!
2. Green notes are repeat/restart notes
3. Red notes are continuos notes that will loop.
4. The red notes will not be continuos if it was not recorded that way.
5. When recording new instrument sets...use 24.000khz 8bit mono...or it might not work
6. Use all 10 note saves when making an instrument...
7. Dont save over your other instrument files.

selection tool usage:
1. make sure its checked
2. left mouse click and drag mouse over notes..(one instrument set only)
3. Selected notes will flash
4. right click mouse where you want to paste notes
(warning)
make sure the notes amount is big enough to except your paste
pasting in the same spot you selected the notes will erase them!!

5. left clicking the mouse without draging will place the editors play starting note.

other notes:

if you want your music to repeat then click the repeat check box
if its not repeating write in your last note you placed as your max notes in song.

Got it?

This all sounds so complicated now doesnt it....lol
Its actualy realy easy to use and figure out.

And if you are not any good at making music like myself this tool
sure makes it alot more easy to make something that sounds neat.

ok the program:
first download is the editor

the rest of them are either instrument files or songs i composed

try it out and have fun

(includes include file for dbpro)

Wow this is awesome.
I thought DarkBasic couldn't handle sound in such a detailed way?

But this is very, very nice. Downloading now actually.

Works in Vista like a charm.
Well done SMD_3D! I sense this is going to be a handy little tool to people who are making retro 8-bit games.

When i finish writting the include file...Its gunna be sweet

1. You will be able to modify song speed of play at any time.

example: Say your time is running out in your game .... you can excelerate the speed of your song. You can even slow it down or whatever...

2. Say there is a chunk of the music you only want to play once then loop the rest. This will be possible.

3. It has seamless note jumping when you loop your song....as seen on the editor.

4. Its own master volume control will be nice too.

Give me a few days to over go the source then i will release it.

Also for those that havent figured it out yet... Its all free!!
Even use the songs i made in your games if ya wish or modify... do what ya like

@SMD_3D Interactive

Hello, fellow Canuck Email me if you still need some webspace. I can set you up with a few gigs if you'd like (I have a lot of extra capacity I don't use).

I have set up a new save feature that cuts the file sizes down big time!!

for example this one song i had was 11,000 kb
now saving with the new feature its only 5,000 kb
not bad huh?

give me a little bit before i release it

And thanks to jeku for the webspace...
I will be hosting the download there

Any questions?
Also i will be making alot more instrument files shortly to add
to this already sweet music app

Very cool. Any updates, I'm looking forward to them. It is fun to play with, but you can't have continuous sounds, why? I mean like a continuous tuba sound instead of just small ones.Hope you finish this one.
