First off, I'd like to assure you that I'm not scrapping, postponing or overlooking Robo. On this thread there will be a wide assortment of 1-panel comics, each one more topical than the last. Here is the first one, which relates to the crash landing at Heathrow Airport. Please leave C&C.

Enjoy!

I'm sorry to here that. Really. I didn't mean to offend. We all have our own interpretations of things. Me, I just thought the basic joke would be funny. Of course I didn't consider that this may actually offend people. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't make a comic of a building getting bombed or something. My intentions are to make something funny out of current news stories. I overlooked the moral implications on this one, but will not do so in the future. If others feel the same way, I'll take it don before a storm kicks up.

Best
Tom

the thing is, it has nothing to do with the actual story. the plane didn't get lost... the landing gear fell off.

Heh.

Heeh... bugger.

It was a joke. Did not the three bitches give it away?

I'm sorry. But on the plus side, your apology was indeed a fun read.

Well now I just feel stupid. The three bitches were an inkling, but I'm only able to comprehend the first 14 words of each sentence, else a fifteenth word would rub out the first word, removing the sentences structure and essentially removing all the words from my memory. What was I talking about again?

Pus in boots, the comic is not funny and many people could of died in that plane crash landing you should be ashamed. And also as its recent news its nicer to wait for the fire to back down then make your comic.

No offense, but it isn't funny at all. Also try putting a little more effort into the drawing stage.

What I would have done is drawn the plane when it had crashed, slapped a great big "L" (Learner Driver plate) on the side and have a speech bubble coming out of the cockpit reading: "O, so don't press that button?"

If Robo is going to be any thing like this, and I'm sure it will be, then you might as well give up. You failed as chalks, which kind of died quite quickly...

You say it's taking a month to get a comic done, while you're taking a month, making one comic, there are 4 comics being made by other artists every month. Come on, chop chop.

@ Deathead:

I think that's a bit extreme. He shouldn't be ashamed. There's a fine line between acceptable and offensive, and he apparently misjudged.

@ Pus:

You just need to watch out for what you put in the comics and think about who it may offend. I recommend staying away from news stories where multiple people die...go with something like the Darwin awards.

^ You can't get a nonexistent joke, Jeku.

He was making funof a plane crash (landing gear problem apparently) and it made no sense because it had nothing to do with the story!

Well if that happened where you lived and people could of died and somebody one day after is making a joke of it I think he should be ashamed.

I think people should quit being offended. I think a lot of people just say they are, because.... hey I don't know why they do it, I just think they do it. The point is, it doesn't matter what you do, say or think, someone will be offended. STOP IT!

Best.

@Monocoder: True but its quite offending that somebody makes jokes up already about it I'll deleted all my posts then because I guessing they're nothing but rubbish replys now.

Did anybody die?

If not, what's the big deal? We can't make jokes about events where nobody died, now?

Nope no one died, in fact hardly anyone was actually injured it would seem (news report I read only mentioned 17 people being treated for injuries). Maybe people should like, you know, actually have a clue what their talking about before they get all worked up? Oh and the landing gear didn't fall off, according to MSN news, it had double engine failure just as it was about to land.

As for the comic, I get the joke your trying to make - but it doesn't seem all that relevant to this event as others have said.

You definitely need to put more effort into the art. I didn't get the joke because I hadn't heard the news story, and, well, if what everyone is saying is true, you misinterpreted the story... badly, therefore making the joke even less funny. Now. Back to the art. Is it really so much effort to draw more than one cloud? All you did was copy any paste... Maybe this is nitpicking but it just seems like the plane is on a backdrop of tiling wallpaper.

And the perspective on the wings VS the tail...fins? I don't know what they are called... is like completely wrong. I mean.. it's fine if they are wrong, it's a comic, it looks funny, but they should both be wrong the same way.

Better luck next time :\ Sorry. I know how hard it is to make up decent comics. I try in my spare time as well. You have the ambition, you just need more practice. I mean... you keep coming back for more flames and criticism so that says something about your drive. Good luck

I don't really see the fun in this, looks like something my little brother would draw in a minute, without any inspiration

Locking this.

We really can't be posting comics about plane crashes, or any other incident where peoples lives are at risk.
