Sorry about the last thread, it deserved a lock. But lets give this one another try. If you don't know, fine, you tried and thanks!

I don't have a link, but thats why I'm trying to find it. Maybe you could help me out.

I'm designing a website for my HTML course, and I want to base the title page off of this site because I really liked the color scheme and design, but I can't seem to find it again. It's someone's site from these forums, so lets go on a scavenger hunt!

Here's a description: The background color was kind of a steel blue (close to rgb(65,105,225)), the page had a very wide banner in the center of the page, and I think there were thick, red, horizontal rules behind the text or framing the banner. The banner itself I think showed a textured terrain of a desert/beach/some sort of sand... or maybe it was a little bit more green, not sure. There were a few links below the banner (I think, maybe they were above) to other parts of the site.

It's really bothering me! The owner did a great job, and kudos to who ever made it.

Can anyone recall who's site this is?

It's not nice to re-open a thread that was locked. I don't know who locked it, but somebody did for a reason.

Glad you like the sig Jeku.

EDIT : I wasn't going to say anything, but Sid, You maybe starting to realize why I posted what I did in your first post:

You may not have any luck finding this website, so what I originally suggested was, as you have the general "gist" of the website in your mind, create your own design using the image you have of this site in your head. I don't see why you took offense to my first post.

I locked that first one since it started to go pear shaped . Lets try and keep this on topic, minus the bickering.

The blue and landscapish description reminds me of my web page.

I know, I felt childish doing it. But the previous attempt to have a good thread was maimed and I never had a chance to see if anyone else knew. There have been some pretty pointless and heated threads on the geek culture board, and for a lot of those to stay open while mine gets locked like its some horrible thread, and without a note from the mod, pushed me to start a new one even further.

Agreed. No reason to keep up the old fighting. It's water under the bridge now

I know, but it was worth a shot. A lot of people from the forums have some very nice sites (the opposite is also true lol) and I also wanted to give who ever it was some kudos on it as well as see his design.

I see a bit more of what you were originally trying to say. As it looks, I'm going to have to do just that because I'm not going to wait around to find it. I'll have to post it when I'm done with it. It's due early Feb., so keep an eye out for it and maybe you'll see I'm not such a nub when it comes to knowing what I'm doing . I think my professor is going to host our sites on the schools crux webserver, so... I think it'll be on the internet, which will be cool.

I didn't take offense to your first post. My comment about the artists was meant as friendly conversation. Where I sensed that intentions were getting a bit hostile was when you said "But hey, it's your life" and then things escalated.

Anyway, it's old news now. Your cool, I'm cool.

You have a great site cash, it's easy to use, easy to find what your looking for, pleasing to the eye and filled with nice images of what your working on. Unfortunately, thats not the site I had in mind but it IS a very nice site none the less Actually your oceanbig picture is a lot like the one I saw, only it was a banner across the center of your home page where you have those 4 pictures . You did all the work on it I assume? Graphics and code? If so, nice job man

Thanks I made everything there, but I took my inspiration from the DarkPhysics web page...

LOL - indeed you did You recreated it nicely though.

I forgot to mention what my site is about anyway. Our final project for the class is to make a website for a hobby of ours and so I'm doing game development. It'll talk about what goes into developing a game, showcase some two of my projects with screenshots, provide links to useful gamedev sites and offer contact info.

It's a pretty easy project IMO. After doing crazy stuff with vertex manipulation with DBP, HTML is a walk in the park and a nice change of scenery at that lol Plus it's a good excuse to make a website for myself.
