Ok, I just downloaded the PS3 demo for Burnout Paradise to see which version of the game I should get (360 or PS3). I already tried the 360 version and loved it.
The PS3 version was awesome as well! I was skeptical about the online capabilities, but there's a mode where you can just free roam with complete strangers in the city--- it was SOOOO FUNN! I don't normally get excited about online modes, but I've never played anything like it.
The game measures EVERYTHING--- jumps, jump distance, barrel rolls, drifts, and of course crashes. You play bumper cars with everyone, and it tracks who has taken down who, and how many times. I was playing with this one guy and he got two hits on me, and the game tells you to take revenge. I found him on the map and T-Boned his butt into the side of the wall-- it was so gratifying!
Anyways, this is a great demo, and I recommend anyone with a next-gen system to download it. The demo itself supports up to 8 player simultaneous madness. It's so cool because the game doesn't stop--- you just keep driving around and taking people down and doing fancy aerial jumps. Ahh so fun.
What is really cool is when the game comes out next week and people are driving around with other cars (the demo just gives everyone the same beater junk car). I'm also impressed with the PS3 version's online stranger mode where it just plops you into a city with complete strangers who are online and you build rivalries, etc.
