Well... I don't have X10 so I don't know of any new-fangled scripting commands X10 has.

Perhaps there's a condition that will check if the player is currently firing his/her weapon?

How about a command that would produce said "fade in/out" of the music?

If the above questions each return TRUE, then I can say without a doubt that it would be possible.

Yes, you can make music fade in and out.
Use a timer and the musicvolume=x (0-100) action to create the effect.
Just start the timer when you are ready and use it to increment the volume up to the max level.
Once the action has ended then the timer is reset and it is used to decrement the volume for the fadeout.

I tested this by stepping the volume by ten every 2 tenths of a second and it worked rather well.

That would be a pain to script for an ultra smooth transition, but good thinking Conjured.

Well, to answer Fruitless's question, I don't know if this would work in x10 but in x9 you could edit the enemy's .fpi sp when your so close to it the music volume goes to 100 (or desired amount) and have healthless=1:musicvolume=0 and so forth.

All in all the added lines should look like this:

:state=X,plrdistwithin=400:musicvolume=100,state=X
:state=X,healthless=1:musicvolume=0

(Replace X with the state's #s)
