Is it possible to have a player step in an area, and have something like an enemy pin him to the wall and talk to him? Then, He turns, you punch him, and a boss battle begins? If not, than how about an enemy that can scream, and when it does, you are temporarily paralyzed?

No, try making a video that does that instead......

You can't control player movement via scripting....

I could argue that... but I'll just say this isntead:

Do you think it's coincidence that in new games today, where it seems to be SO open-ended and in such a HUGE environment, that every single person playing the game for the first time, end up at the same areas of the game?

I think it's something like "controlling player movement via level design and psychology"... or maybe it isn't.
