Haven't seen it, but it looked like another utterly cliched, steriotype-driven, run-of-the-mill 'cool stuff' cakewalk to me-- even worse than the original. Still, haven't seen it, haven't seen it

If you check out my avatar <--- then yeah i like the chicks cars etc etc but after seeing furious one, I have no wish to see the second one as there were so many technical issues. It's a bad habit but with a love of cars and fast cars I like to see everything technically viable. Now if it was futuristic or fantasy wouldnt bother me but for a movie that reflects current day life I cant get the suspension of belief thing working for me. I waited months to see movies like driven hit the cinema just to find out it lacked in many ways. Dont like tom cruise or nicole kidman but best car pic i have seen in years was days of thunder, it had some sense of realism to it. Dont gt me wrong there are plenty of good car/chick movies out there. But I guess if you enjoyed it thats the main thing....

Just bored and wanted to give an opinion on something

Evo and American muscle cars huh?
As i said i'm bored....
How about aussie muscle cars ?

Holden Monaro... This version was done for the track but a full 7Litre version is in production for normal road users. Spose to retail at about 80,000 pounds or 100,000 US. Yeah i Know it uses the base of a Chevy motor but it has been redesigned for Australia. Stats on the race car are.

7 litre (427 cublic inch) Alloy Gen 111 V8 Chev Engine (GRM Built)
Hollinger 6 speed Sequential Gear Box
GRM built chassis with Chrome Molly Roll Cage
18 x 13 inch rear tyres and 18 x 11 front Dunlop tyres
Ohlins shock absorbers
9 inch differential
GRM desgined Carbon/Kevlar aero package
AP 6 piston mono block front calipers/4 piston mono block rear calipers. Front rotor is 375 x 35mm and rear 343 x 35mm
120 litre aircraft spec fuel cell with Siamese dry brakes
Motec on board engine and dash management system
4 on board air jacks

In a 24 hr race here it beat everything from Porsche to Ferrari. Closest competitor was in a Porsche, 13 laps down....

Does this class as a muscle car?

Think my boredom just got cured

i think there were like 3 out of 28 cars in the film which were american
you know i've noticed alot of people in LA drive either German or Asian ... alot of guys have like old Pontiacs and such in thier driveways but they're just for show and stuff.

as for favourite car flick, i'd say gone in 60 second you just can't beat the Porsche at the start being driven through the shop window or the Mustang GT500 flying through the air on the Longbeach Bridge
that and i'd go for Anglina over Nicole most days, i say most cause Nicole has that gorgeos red hair ... Mmmm

you know something that's really pissed me off since being here, is that every american i've talked to about this (and its mostly been the girls) claim that all hair which is ginger or red is red. might just be me, but does anyone else see that as just wrong?
i mean ginger hair is so, i dunno, icky looking ... i like ginger in a biscuit not in as hair ... and then you have red, they both look totally flipping different too
oki might be a weird point but i'm not just being wierd about this am i, there is something a little wrong with that right?

Hehe, Ginger is Ginger, like Chris Evans - Redheads are totally different. I suppose mericans might call a ginge a redhead, but they're a totally different species. Ginger hair is largely frowned upon in Britain, probably remnants from anti-scots laws of yore.

I thought I would like Fast and the Furious, but it was just endless night races and people talking garbage about nitro injection manifold units and stuff. Mind numbing stuff made for the numb of mind. I think the old car movies were best, Smokie and the Bandit, Cannonball Run, lots of moustaches and italian sports cars. I hate the way Hollywood makes a movie, then makes a sequel without the start from the first, it just defeats the whole point!.

The best car movie ever though, has to be The Italian Job.

i like that old film i'm not sure what its called but its kinda Wackey Races but they got points for also killing pedestrians and such, extra points for style (when i saw it immediately though, Carmageddon lol).

i don't like the italian job, nor the remake ... just both seemed so meh!

Mad Max had some pretty cool car sequences - back when stunt men would loose their lives making amazing stunts. I just think modern car movies are more about the cars than the story.

I recently had this idea for a game based on these movies.

You start with a car, and you have a free roaming city like in GTA. Now you would have strips that racers meet at, you gotta get to the race meets while avoiding the police. I reckon that'd be cool - just finished your race and you go back to the start to grab your cash, then the police swarm in and everyone scarpers - then they meet again somewhere else . Stick on multiplayer mode, so you can challenge your rivals online, and your laughing. It'd make a change from the usual racing games, because you could race wherever you want and enjoy GTA style car shenanigans inbetween.

you'll probably be one of those people who love the first section of my 7th Day Project Demo.

first section you get framed after a mission is comprimised, so first you have to get out of the warehouse without being killed which is easier said than done considering the mission goes sour and the cops arrive on the scene ... your part of the BSA so if you killed any american police it would be an international inccident and even if your arrested your carrying illegal firearms and are performing an unauthorised mission, so you have a whole industry warehouse section to escape the police.
They close of the bridge to the mainland but there is still a good 8miles square of industrial area - the only escape is from your partner who is in a chopper its alot of fun, especially as this is happening at dusk so its kinda dark but people are still working.

hehee (^_^) it is fun to see the physics engine in full effect with police cars hitting walls trying to avoid killing the other AiPs.
It's not quite GTA but its still alot of fun ... one try i decided to use some rail shots on a gas tank just watch it explode - which looked weak (have to fixx the explosion & fire shaders as they don't include volumetrics or be included in the depth of scene yet)

playing chicken with officers is good too, because some are crazy, some are cautious and some will make you really wonder if they will dodge lol

I think you’re on about Death Race 2000 (Sylvester Stallone, David Carradine). I haven’t seen any of the new car movies, although I’ve heard Gone in 60 Seconds is quite good

Yep, Death Race was a cool film. Carmageddon did a pretty good job on it too.

American muscle cars? Ok if you want to go in a straight line of course. Otherwise get a bus.

The Supra in the original was pretty cool. Apparently is a 600ish bhp thingy. Obviously modified to hell as the targas didn't even have a turbo, let alone a twin one (like the non-targa Supras). Nice.

Want to get the Evo 8 Extreme next time. The company that used to be Ralliart make it. Tis nice. Just need to live next to a tyre company is all

Cheers

I am 99% probably lying in bed right now... so don't blame me for crappy typing
