Would it be possible to have a camera set up in every room at a static point that followed the player?

Games like Silent Hill or Resident Evil: Code Veronica use this to great effect.

Please note, I have exhaustively searched using every keyword I can think of.

I know what you mean, but no it isnt possible. there is no third person or third person/survival horror type camera options. As of right now it is strictly FPS.

Ah, I get what the request is now... lol, I thought from the first post that they wanted a CAMERA (entity) set up in all the rooms that would look at the player all the time.

But that isn't possible either (without setting up two seperate entities that make up the single camera).

Thats what I thought.
Ah, well.
It would have gotten boring anyway, what with the player being a floating gun. Or would that be invisible too?

there's a lot of people working on mods for 1.07, im not sure what the progress is like on third person but its rather tedious and almost not worth the coders time as it opens a whole new can of worms when it comes to camera collision and such. But who knows what the future may bring.

Yes, in third person it will look like a floating gun (and arms if your gun comes with them )

One thing a modder could do to get this sorta thing working is to load up a path in the setup.ini which leads to a model that will be used for the player's character.

However, work on this has since stopped and may or may not be picked up later. Only time will tell.
