Looks pretty cool. Where you would ever go 300mph I don't know..but still it's eye candy.

I dunno, sometimes it seems people on our street here in Derby, or through our village in Cambridgeshire seem to enjoy going 10x over the speed limit.

It takes blood and guts to be this cool, but I'm still just a cliche

I hear the computer aided handling is really good on this car. Makes me wonder how awesome an all out Nissan supercar without concessions to practicality and stuff could be.

Show stoppingly good! There are faster cars, there are better looking cars, there are safer cars, but nothing comes close to the Nissan GTR in it's price range. You have to spend twice as much money to get anything nearly as good. Like Skylines it will one day achieve cult status. In the meantime it will humilate Porsche, Ferrari and Lambo drivers, as they start to question why they spent 4 times as much on nothing more than a badge as the GTR disappears over the horizon.

Then Grandma would have 3 XBox 360s...doesn't help when you're having a conversations about 'End of the road kebab shops' and the process of throwing kebabs at windows.

Plus it's an uber awesome street, you'd be in awe if you knew of its awesomeness.

Whatever makes you happy is good. Everyone needs to be happy.

Personally I'd hate handing my hard earned over to insurance vampires and oil barrons.

Haha, triple that and you'll get closer. Trust me, i've been keeping score.

.....i'll take your word for it. Streets can be pretty awesome at times. This one time, i was walking down one, and guess what happened next! THAT'S RIGHT! NOTHING! Only the awesomeness that is streets can achieve something so awesome with nothing.

Noble is nice, but its quality is about as reliable as OSU football winning a championship.

The Noble is a cracking car. I would say superb for the money. But I would rather have the GTR, because it's less likely to break down, it'll be more practical, it's a bit more understated also. While the Noble screams "flash supercar", when you pull up next to a bunch of girls and they go "oooooooooo! What's that?" and you say "Noble M15", they'll look all confused, because you didn't say Porsche, Lambo or Ferrari.

The Noble will also connect you more deeply with the driving experience, and therefore, more deeply with a lampost. Where as the GTR computers will be constantly adjusting to prevent your amateur race-driver skills from killing you. In short, the GTR makes you feel like a racing driver, when you're not, and the Noble will show you you're not by killing you, and probably scewering your internal organs with its fragile fibre class bodywork.

Yep. Fallout knows what he is talking about. I remember being behind my mates ultimate driving machine (BMW M3) in my Scooby taking a corner off a roundabout at massive acceleration in pouring rain and he was fishtailing like no tomorrow while I had no worries. Friend of mine has crashed 3 Elises into hedges and the like on backroads, whereas mine acted like the rally car it really is. And even though I love my girlfriend, her suped up Elise (4.9 secs 0-60mph) makes you wish for air bags, ABS, life support etc on corners. Plus it kills your arse and getting in and out is like right pants

Cheers

I am 99% probably lying in bed right now... so don't blame me for crappy typing

It's cool that average joes and josephines don't know the manufacturer. M400s just look totally badass. I'd want a dark grey one with black wheels. If you really care about badge kudos, then if you say it's a "Nissan GT-R", they'll hear "Nissan blah blah blah", which doesn't carry a lot of weight anyway.

I quite like that the Nissan has all that computery stuff. It can make a car feel a bit crappy- like how Gran Turismo isn't fun with the aids turned on. But i hear the Nissan has good aids rather than bad aids, and is fun to drive about in.

Given the choice i'd rather have a two seater than a four/five seater, so i didn't have to give people lifts. Also, if i bought a super-flashy fast car i'd get some proper driving lessons and visit the track. Otherwise it's kind of pointless and irresponsible having a car like that. I'd be kind of embarrassed.

Yeah, Nissan isn't really gonna give you badge kudos. Agreed. But the car doesnt look like a supercar, like a Noble. I agree with you though - I dont like badge kudos. Infact, I would never want to own a Porsche because, despite them being cracking cars, 90% of every other Porsche owner you see on the road will probably be driving it purely for the badge. And you will be lumped in with them as a complete spanner.

Quote: "But i hear the Nissan has good aids rather than bad aids, and is fun to drive about in."

Yeah. They're about safety and performance. For example, they're 4WD, but the torque is split around from wheel to wheel to give the car maximum drive in the right direction. And the rear wheels actually steer and anti-steer, to both prevent loss of control when swerving, and to bite the rear of the car into the corner. So turning is very responsive, and oversteer is easily controlable. It's fun coming off roundabouts in the wet.

Anyway. I will stop prattling on about it, as nobody really cares. Only me.

I think it's quite a significant car. It demonstrates what can be achieved by using high tech and the right control algorithms and stuff. It can punch above it's weight, keeping up with cars that have more power, less weight, less drag and that. If they applied this kind of stuff to a more dedicated speed machine, the mind boggles!

I'd love to take a peek 10-20 years into the future and see what kind of things are going round the Nurburgring, and the Top Gear track. Active suspension, active aero, kinetic energy recovery devices, nukes, knives, sharp sticks...

I should shut up as well.

haha. There's something quite odd about seeing something accelerate that fast without the sound of a monster engine screaming in the background. Reminds me of those new magnetic rollercoasters.

Wouldn't hurt to own one of those. Not that I drive much and it's totally crap in the city anyways.
