For anybody who came to the last convention in Leeds last year, and anybody else who wanted to go but couldn't make it, would you be interested in an official convention this year?

I spoke to Rick at the con and he said it is most likely that there will be one, but I figured by posting here and getting people to show interest, at this time of year would allow a date to be picked which would suit everybody.

I would also like to give my gratitude to Rick and the rest of the TGC guys and to Mr & Mrs Batvink for organising a great event last year.

Post your interest now!

I think I left my interest in my other jeans... But yeah, as is nearly traditional (4th or 5th time that I've said I'm interested, not yet been there once), I shall declare my interest and hope that I'll finally have enough money and time at the right time of year to attend.

I've added beers to the posts to assist in counting.

Wouldn't it be easier if BatVink just added beers to the top post?

Anyone interested could just add 1 beer to their post

no, because then someone has to keep counting. It shouldn't be too difficult for each person to count the beers and add one - unless they are already consumed by beer.

Anyway, it's Mnemonix' thread, don't drag me into it

Every year I say I'm interested, and I never show up either.

This is most likely the year I can go, as my wife has expressed interest in traveling to the UK

It'd have to be quite small. My back garden, what little isn't taken up by a shed full of bikes/classic motorbike/old PCs, is about two metres wide. Don't forget your hiking boots, either, because it hasn't been turfed yet.

Count me in.

Note the new counting convention - a cocktail counts as ten beers.

I'm definitely interested, but there's no way I can go if it's elsewhere than the US ($flights to UK + $lodging + $convention = ).

If it's within EU (preferably Sweden ) and all of you buy lots of copies of SGT so I can afford the trip then I come. Personally I think UK is the best option considering thats where TGC is located.

I prefer cider myself or a good drink. I don't like but I've added mine to the list already

Well, if Geisha House isn't finished by then then I've got real problems. Namely I doubt my wife would let me attend

Quote: "Or just keep the convention at Finland "

I came from Germany, wasn't a big deal.

I've seen some half-assed attempts at getting a stateside convention together but the problem is always the same - nobody can decide on a location. I guess the U.S. is so big that if it's not in someone's home state then it might as well be on the moon. Someone should just put one together. It wouldn't be as good as the British version, nor would any information put out there be official or necessarily true but I bet there would be sufficient interest, especially considering that the FPSC crowd would be included.

Haven't there already been a gathering or two in US? I recall one was visited by Lee and Mike (or was that two different gatherings?).

I would love to show off SGT, it's so fast I could throw together a game in minutes

Yeah, most people got stuck outside the club that night. A couple of us made it in - Lee, Ravey, Craig, and myself. That's where the real soul searching happened

Too bad there can't be a US simul-convention (offical or unofficial) where the US coders can go instead of flying over seas.

Anyone interested in THAT?
