Haha, we definitely should have one over here. It'd make it so much easier to travel, rather than flying.

If you're too young for alcohol then you are too young for caffeine

Seriously though, the later you start with caffeine the better, or you'll end up far too dependent on it.

Wow, you solved TGC's greatest mystery. I thought something was odd about everyone having British accents...

Hey, wait a minute.

Why not set two conventions.

One in UK, one in US.

Make em start the same day/hour with some time-zone math.

Set up a good TV as a computer moniter, and have webcam feed from one convention to the other across the sea.

This way, people from US and UK can have the conventions as if it were the same place.

Well, if we started in England at 0900 the stateside folks in the Central time zone would have to start at 0200 in order to get a live feed.

Have someone of the company there. Or use digital contracts.

There's a 5 hour gap between UK and the east coast.

Yes, watching E3 live from Sweden means really bad hours (9 hour difference).

@LT Tatters, It does cost, and I can guarantee if you go you'll be the youngest on there by many many years.

I actually have an interest in going now, however I doubt I'll be able to go this year, whatever time it is. So I'll wait a few conventions I think.

Is it Leeds again?
If not then any idea where it will be this year?

What him above said. I would like to know location before I express interest. I wouldn't want you all to get excited that I might be attending, just for me to turn round and laugh in your faces and run away making cuckoo noises.

I think at the end of the day, there is only one solution to location, food and time problems. Have an online convention 24 hours long in a game or something. That way, you can visit the convention from home, eat your food and at your time.

Rapid texture streaming, Pixel shaders gleamin',
Cooling fans a screaming, And power bills a reaming.

I attended last time but travelling between Essex and Leeds was a nightmare with all sorts of traffic chaos.

I probably won't attend for that reason and also the fact that DBPro is losing my interest slowly in favour of real life stuff like jobs and family.

Things might change though and the thought of a weekend of alcholic pleasure might turn the tide.

Boo!

I went to the last one just for the day. It was 4hrs there and 4hrs back but well worth the trip - I`ll make it a longer stay this time though. Not bothered where or when - just get better food - maybe somewhere were we can get a beer with meals perhaps...

Nice to see so many responses from the people who were there last year, and some new faces too.

I would like for a convention to be in Summer this year, but im not sure of the difficulties this presents in organizing one, so I will settle for any time . Either May or August is ideal for me

August definatly better for me, and it would give other people more time to join up, or for making any arrangments that they may need to do

Here's an idea... someone should actually make a TGC "mmo" convention program. You can create your avatar, login to a virtual world, with the convention center, recreations, etc etc, and basically just hang out with all the people at the convention in a digitial world. There could be voice chat so people can give speeches and presentations, and yeah! I don't want to make it though.

Well... I guess that is essentially what it would be, but so is going to the convention. It's just a real life "version of the forums"... doy

I think streaming a video from the convention and a chat will get us far enough.

Streaming media during presentations with a chat section, (Maybe through a forum thread) so people can ask questions, that would be cool

I'm interested.

I haven't read the rest of the thread, but I'm sure someone must've mentioned that you should do it during the October holidays so us young-uns can make it. Dont wanna made a bad impression in my first year of Uni

What "October holidays"??!! October is the busy time for most Uni students (in England anyway, perhaps Scotland is different ... ).
