I was browsing the forums and realized no avatars were displaying. I checked my profile options and saw it was turned off. I turned it back on and all is well.

What's weird is that I haven't been in my profile thing for a while. Did this happen to anyone else?

Nope

Although it doesn't sound like a major problem, so I wouldn't worry about it.

Yeah, it sounds like something minor like database corruption to me.

I think a random anomality in the time-space continuum accidently changed something in your brains and temporarily put you in an avatar-less universe.

A mod has been erased by your signature because it was larger than 600x120

You mean you shouldn't do that?

Speaking of avatars, they are rather tiny aren't they?

100x100 ftw!

They are tiny for a reason. So the page loads faster.

Then what of those who have images in their signatures? (awesome) Jerico2day's (equally awesome) signature alone could probably hold all of our avatars.

If that was really the reason then I bet we wouldn't be allowed to use images in our sigs.

There is a limit on signature image size, too. Jerico just chooses not to follow it.

Modelled and rendered in Blender. Free software ftw.

And what about animated avatars? It might be an idea to limit the size in kb and extend the limit in size in pixels.

Oh and the avatar thing...hehe APRIL FOOLS! I gotcha didn't I, oh you devil you, I just used my uber awesome-o magical elf powers to change your post settings!

I like the size, as it makes the forum feel rather professional for some reason. The whole layout feels clean and easy to use. Personally, This is the best looking and easy to use forum I've ever been on. Also, I recognise people mostly by their avatars, which are so easy to recognize because they have so little detail to remember. If the avatars were bigger, the page would feel more cluttered, and I wouldn't be able to just read the post and not the name of as many people if I had to remember bigger avatars.

I can't imagine anyone actually not liking the layout here. It's amazing, I'd say.

Every time you say something like that, I'm going to think it's directed at me lol, you're one of the only TGC people to ever see my source code, and I'm a terrible programmer, so naturally I worry .

I love eating peanut butter by the spoonful... I'll have to try eating it by the serverful now . Yummy.

60k is too much? I thought the limit was 150k or something. My sig's tiny compared to some...

As for being haxxored, the thought crossed my mind, but then I came back to reality and realized some newb would have posted slanderous things if that were the case.

Pff, the mods always say different numbers. I chose 150 as that was listed in some post somewhere.

My point is that the signature size limit itself is way over the limit of the avatar size.

Anywho, I guess some people just like things small, whilst I do not.

@ Kohaku

You don't like things small? That's why your sig must be the largest on on these forums, no?

Jerico2day - The limit has been 600x120 for a few years, and none of the mods said anything different that I am aware of.

Yeah, it's always been 600x120, we were originally going to make it 600x100 but my signature was too tall, so we had to change it to 120.

Its a good job too, you would have to withstand "BiggAdd" cast over a glorious 1024x768px on my posts.
Well no, smaller is better. I've even compacted my signature by using Japanese:

On some forums I've seen signature images as big as 800x600.

It is, specially when it's just a huge red square with some text in the middle.

And please note that I am a bit anal about the sig sizes. If your sig is 300x150 I'd still want you to shrink it.

Also, if you have an image that's 600x120 and you have a bunch of text underneath it, that would raise it and I'd want you to remove the text or shrink the image. It's better to be super tough on this and not play favourites.
