pros:
-easy
-fast
-nice to play with

cons:
-too basic
-bad graphics
-no multiplayer
-you can have better FPSC (but's FPP only)
-you just can't do anything good for >7 year olds...

Make games, not war.

No. Bad bad bad. Trust me.

The games can only be low quality and childish. You are rrather limited in what you can do. And if that's not enough, you have to buy a license as well.

Bad.

2/10

You'd be better off getting FPS Creator than 3DGM. It has far superior graphics, physics, AI, and everything else. It includes stock media, and there are media packs available both from TGC and members of this community that can expand your options even further. The editor is remarkably simple... pick the room, character, furniture, whatever, and place it on the map where you want it. You can literally make a room with a guy to shoot at in a few seconds, and I made this game (it's free) using FPSC in only a few days. It includes an intuitive and easy to learn scripting language if you feel like expanding on/ customizing the artificial intelligence, and the engine itself is open-source so you could alter the programming itself and make your game really unique... but you can easily make a game without writing a single line of code or even looking at the scripting language.

And you're even better off buying DarkBASIC Professional. It's an easy-to-learn programming language and will allow you to make literally any game you can dream up (well, unless you're trying to make the next World of Warcraft). Programming isn't as difficult as it looks, and it's a lot more fun than you probably think it is. And if you think FPSC looks cool, keep in mind that its engine is entirely powered by DarkBASIC Pro . The only thing you're limited by is your imagination. I know that sounds cliche, but it's extremely true... you can make just about anything you can dream up if you learn the language and work hard enough, and nothing feels better than, or is as accomplishing as, releasing a game you programmed yourself.

Depends on your goals. Very simple stuff, just for trying? 8/10. Otherwise: 2/10.

Anything you can do in T3DGM can be done in DBP with fairly little work, and the result will be of much better quality.

If your old enough to post about 3D Game Maker then your too old to be using it . It's really not aimed at anyone here, I might as well go review some Barbie game, or the next Pokeman trading card franchise.

Really it's something that kids could learn a lot from and enjoy, I mean is there an easier game creation system out there?, don't think so. You can literally throw together simple games, mazes, and get instant results - just don't expect it to appeal to anyone other than youngsters.

The 3D Game Maker is simply awful.
Stock Media=Awful
Level Choice=Even worse
Characters=Completly childish (Mr Poo?)

However FPS Creator is light years ahead of The 3D Gamemaker
Stock Media=Decent
Level Choice=Unlimited design
Characters=Good

If you want some examples of what FPS Creator can do in around a hour go to my site (www.fpsgames.co.nr)
and download the sci-fi game.
And that was made with the demo!

Simply put get FPS Creator!

Sorta There are many areas in level design where it's lacking, but yes, you can work around most of them by making your own custom prefabs and brushes.

P.S Overall score would be like 4/10...
which makes 3D Game Maker a fine tool... because the best should probably be 10/10 and 3D Game Maker is 4/10... just 6/10 away!

Oh dear...

4/10 IMO, isn't a worthwhile score, but if you want to make fun kids games, then 3DTGM is good for you, if you want to make a serious game, it's too featureless.

Well anything below a 6/10 is considered an "F" isn't it? Makes a 4/10 overall not sound so good, though that still seems a bit high considering all the <2/10's people have been giving. (Somebody even gave a -1/10 )
