[center]=== [ Untitled 4 ] ===
Aah, ladies and gentlemen, with fitting pride and enthusiasm, the Untitled crew would like to present to you the first issue of the magazine in 2008. A surprisingly filled issue, with a lot of previews, a lot of reviews and of course the gossips and Daily Spy that has proven to be a popular concept. It appears we've kept our style and humour over the year, so if you liked earlier issues, the minor improvements to this issue shouldn't bother you, and if you didn't, these minor improvements might just bring you to the dark side.

Without further ado, I present to you Issue 4.

Quote: "Highlights
* Final Exodus: Online
* Spitfire Maverick
* Tom Clancy's EndWar
* Hacker Evolution
* Much, much more"

Nice. EndWar looked good, although i first thought of Scott Orson when i read that.

Why do you think PS3 Home will be a disaster? I'm looking forward to it. Then again, I enjoyed Second Life.

I think that most people won't really bother with it. It is a Second Life/Sims kind of thing and the demography of PS3 gamers does not include a lot of people who like that. I think it's completely mistargetted. Of course, I could be wrong.

Feels really professional, but...
what's the last page all about?

Rapid texture streaming, Pixel shaders gleamin',
Cooling fans a screaming, And power bills a reaming.

I would completely disagree with that (no surprise there ). Home is something that everybody with a PS3 is looking forward to and its an ideal application for the more mature games player. If the community aspect of Xbox Live caught on (which it did) then I believe Home will take it a step further. Actually, make that a 'leap' further.
I mean no disrespect, but I think this prediction might well be a repeat of your 'HD-DVD vs Blu-Ray' prediction

I knew you'd bring that up, and no harm done - you were completely right back then - and I was wrong.

But I think that PS3 Home won't be digged by a lot of people. People want a game, a lobby, a multiplayer experience. That's what Live gives, but what PS3 takes to a sort of Simmish thing. Most male 'casual' gamers (PS3 target audience) despise Second Life and the Sims. I just can see it work... but hey, like before - I could be wrong. Do mail me, so we can give a nice comment in next issue .

It was a good read, but seemed a bit personal for a magazine (i.e. I, me, we, etc. all over the place). It doesn't give it the pro feel like a magazine would. In the reviews that is necessary as they're largely opinionated. I'm not sure if you're going for that style, however.

Yeah, we're aiming for a casual personal style, more like we're just talking to you rather than writing an essay .

@Pixelator:
I doubt it, personally, as Final Exodus plays in 'a random place and time', and that Darkcoder could pretty much be taking that to extremes.

@Jeku:
Yup, that's our style. We've all introduced ourselves, so if everythings okay you should know that I'm mostly a RTS or RTS/FPS PC gamer that gives about story, likes the 360 and Wii, that Gils' okay with consoles, and prefers FPS games on whatever is possible. Ian is more of the Nintendo guy among us, and Tom is a pretty much overal type of gamer as long as he thinks its fun.

Everyone has another view concerning games. What I praise as the best game ever made could be a terrible game for Gil. We reflect this through our magazine. Gaming is personal, and unless a game is bugridden, the score is pretty much decided by the individual take on the game - that's how we work.

Untitled brings the game gossips and upcoming games in a fun, contemporary and personal way. We're in no way a news magazine nor want to be: we're a crew that makes a magazine that's fun to make and read and our goal is that while opinionated, you do get the news you care about - you can fill in what you'd think of it. We're not a complete source in our news (read: gossips) section, we just notify people of interesting things that they can research further. This was a deliberate design decision, yeah, and is actually pretty much worded like that in our original draft idea.

Maybe we should clarify this in the next issue with a nice profiles article and 'objectivity' article.

Nice issue, I had to laugh though when you complained that 6 hours of Geo Wars on the DS gives you a sore hand - 6 hours of anything on DS will give you a sore hand!

BTW I'm ranked 34th on one of those levels - pretty impressive huh!

I love Geo Wars DS though, it's a damn good version, much better than the original 360 version. The only thing that dissapointed me was that the grid backdrop doesn't warp, I don't think it would have taken much to get some sort of warpage on that - unless it's using some sort of raster trickery instead of real lines.

The DS might well get a manicure simulator before very long, I mean theres all sorts of weird games for it in Japan. One I was quite interested in is a tattooist simulator, you get to do virtual tattoo's on the DS, with a rumble pad it would be damn authentic .

The man who eats fear for breakfast... I like it. You know, when I heard this would be a jam-packed issue, I didn't realise how much marmaladey goodness you'd squeezed into it. I have yet to have a proper read, but what I see, I love.

Great issue. I was particularly interested in the fact that there were three (?) articles on gaming-betting or professional gaming. It sounds like the kind of thing I'd be excited to get into, only to realise that I've just lost my house since I didn't know when to stop. Fascinating and contemporary.

I'm not actually a Kiwi, I just randomly thought it up one day.
