Try this place. I used them all the time when using WindowsBlinds, but they cover a lot of other stuff too. Very good.

That looks like StarDock's ObjectDock at the bottom. If it is then I would suggest RocketDock. Runs faster and I found ObjectDock seemed to slow my computer down here and there. Since removing is back to normal.

Yeah, I like RocketDock to. Easy to costumize to (haven´t tried to costumize ObjectDock, but RocketDock is very easy).

EDIT:

Ohh, and that interface you have is quite nice, at last if you want your PC to look like mac, which I don´t (simply because I think win should look win and mac like mac), but I have nothing against people who want to make it so. However, it is a bit too transparent for my taste. But that´s me.

thanks for the advise

the transparancy can all be turned on/off, the transparant window is due to my graphics card, TopBar and all menus are all semi-transparant.

I know what you mean about windows should look like windows, (at work anyway), but i've used Windows since 3.1, so its nice for it to look different every now and then, Although it does use a lot of resources, my new PC uses 500MB out of its 4GB memory from startup, but it probley dosn't help that i run windows at 1280x1024 with all graphical settings set to max quality.

I hate macs interface, it's nice to look at, but sucks for multi tasking(for me anyway).

A Mac is undoutably more visually appealing, but i wodn't get one because of the lack of software available for them, although this is where a WindowSkin can be handy as it Looks like a MacOS, but its windows.

I've got a nice Wii skin that I installed with DLLs and patches. Why bother with WindowBlinds?

Yes it looks better than XP, but Vista looks better than OSX.

Edit: Yes, I know this skin is for XP.

But unlike vista, you don't need a powerhouse PC just to simply render the desktop on Mac.

Lies, my new PC is only as powerful as my old one, runs just as fast, if not faster, only dif is 256 mb ram.

Edit: I'm upgrading graphics soon and overclocking cpu though, I can't run new games is why.

Even so, Windows blinds, objectdock etc seems to draw a lot more than you would think. I was loving the look but found my machine would stutter now and again and really drag for a few secs here and there. Especially with desktop widgets by stardock (DesktopX stuff). This was on a dual core 2gb 7800GT PC with like about a terabyte of storage while running like a single IE or FF window. So plenty of extra capacity. Removed it all and everything went back to normal.

My laptop is by no means a powerhouse and it runs Vista and Aero just fine?

I found that when I used Stardock's products. Using an injected DLL runs just as fast as a normal theme because Windows doesn't know the difference.

i've now also changed my boot screen, login screen, sounds and mouse to replicate mac and its still working fine, although i could still use a better iconset, although a mate of mine honistly thought i had a Mac OS installed, not windows.

if these are your laptops specs i think youll find that an excellent system and rpoberley cost quite a bit.

I agree. That is pretty much top spec across the board. You can't do much better in a laptop.

That's my desktop, not my laptop

Sorry, should have specified:

AMD Turion X2 2.0 Ghz
2 GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 6150 64MB Integrated

That's a powerhouse compared to our old eMac (heck aside form that graphics card it's a powerhouse compared my desktop and laptop too)that runs the latest OSX (well latest until the last upgrade, Photoshop CS isn't completely compatible so we didn't upgrade), 1.5ghz, 256mb, integrated graphics (not sure how powerful it is, I can't exactly check from here)

And MacOSX has been recorded at running efficiently on lower specs, like 128mb ram, 600ghz processor(from what I've heard), so I doubt Vista could do lower, I mean my laptop is running XP with 128mb ram, 800mhz cpu and it can barely do anything, I just use it for printing off uni work (printer doesn't work with my desktop), and surfing then net (my desktop doesn't have an ethernet card) and Firefox even lags. Try running MSword and Firefox at the same time...trouble.

This isn't meant to be a PC vs Mac debate, but MacOS does use less memory and can perform better on lower spec machines. I get along with XP well (don't know about vista, if I learned anything from previous experience it's good to wait for a service pack), I just think the person that sold me this laptop had a cruel sense of humour, installing XP on a laptop designed for Windows 9.x and 2000.

True enough, and I guess my laptop is a powerhouse compared to some Macs...

But back on topic: I remember trying to customize Windows to look somewhat like the original post before. It did have a noticeable bit of slowdown though, and in the end I preferred another theme for XP.

But I've been using Standard Aero since I upgraded to Vista, so this thread gave me the idea to do a bit of customizing again. I like my results

I can run Vista on my PC from 2001, and it runs faster than my XP, which I recently removed due to it wasting my hard drive space.

1. Mac's interface
Sure it looks good, if you like grey and ugly. I gotta be honest there, the Mac interface looks like it's from an old computer, and I am talking about the latest one (The Leopard interface I believe, if not I apologize). I prefer the Windows XP interface to the Mac interface on any day, and I prefer the Vista interface to both. That's just my preference though, and an opinion.

2. PCs powerhouse
Well at least our computers are more powerful and contain MUCH more programs. Our architecture (x86 AND x86-64) is much more supported (The Macs use the PPC last I checked). I mean, good luck finding a PPC assembler (Though ARM is harder to find). I don't even think the PPC supports 64-bit! I know my x86-64 will run quicker than most the Mac computers I've seen, and it definitely costs less.

3. Vista
You either like it or you don't, you obviously aren't going to be able to persuade someone into liking it or not if they already do or don't.

I'll be enjoying my DirectX 10, superior memory manager, and amazingly boundless resources for programming for them all (Though with difficulty testing DirectX 10 without a DX 10 card which I soon hope to get).

Sorry no. But from my understanding the Windows Media Center themes are just images stored in a folder (I'll have to check into that). If that's true you should be able to set them to your Mac theme.

Cheers,

-naota

With any luck you'll be able to turn a fully functioning program to a crashing program with just a little bit of coding.
