If you could have a command added to FPSC or a command fixed, which ones would they be? Please list your command and if it's new (not one you want fixed) describe it and what is does in detail please. Oh and BTW, I'm doing this for Lee, who's going to be fixing/adding commands to FPSC soon. You have until the end of this Friday,

I would love to have plrdrop fixed.

BTW, I think this should be stickied.

Both of the ones above are good, but I say...

Quantity

Score

Whatever you want to call it, just give us a global variable for a counter for points/gold/etc.
Meaning that it would need a ...

Condition
quantity=X
quantitygreater=X
quantityless=X

Action
quantityadd=X

Use the add -1 to subtract 1 just like the plraddhealth.

screenshake-
this would be great for earthquake simulations, volcano eruptions, enemy base self destruction scenes, as well as a recoil for fireing weapons.

I think you could probably create a screenshake work around yourself without an added command.
It probably would be hard though, so a command would be nice.

I am confused as to why he would have you ask us instead of asking us himself.
It seems to me like Lee should be thinking about getting the water and ragdoll into v1 instead of adding commands.
Maybe these are destined for X10.

VEHIKLE = X

Yeah, that would so be da bomb!!!

.... Sorry, I couldn't help myself.

Personally, I'd like to see the scripting language overhauled... to make it more like an object oriented scripting language.

DIE!                         (just kidding)

I hate OOP! (it was too radical in the 60's when it was devised and I think it still is too radical)
Give me procedural over OOP anyday. Lee's FPI scripting language is genius and you know it.
I have never seen a more straight forward approach to handling conditions.
It is sooo easy once you get the jist of it. You know you love it.

Until the day that I can do something like:

state=plrhealth
-or-
activate=state
-or-
ambience=state

I won't be satisfied.

It may not have to be OOP, but at LEAST let us USE the variables to set the other variables!

I agree

We need access to variables in order to create any kind of artificial intelligence for proper interaction.
I have never understood the reluctance of giving us access to some of them.
I would like a dozen counters like I mentioned above...

score
points
money
item1
item2
item3
item4
item5
item6
item7
item8
item9

...but just one or two could get us started...

score1
score2

...at least one???

I liked the score variable for each entity they were talking about at one time.
That would ROCK!

I would like a menu system implemented , for weapons and items.
So FPSC users could have 2 or 3 hand guns in slot 1,2 or 3 shotguns in slot 2 etc.
Items could be selected and used in game.
Coding for ladders to work correctly. Then the player could move up and down them freely.
Coding for water and swimming.
Coding for variables.
Scope.

Well, you know I compiled the FPSC feature wish-list right? So Lee asked me to compile a list of all the commands people want added to FPSC. He didn't say "make a thread about it" but I decided this is the best way. I've already asked for settargetname and plrdrop to be fixed.

Instead of using "settargetname", which is right up there with the .fpe workaround for IfUsed properties in character entities... how about we ask for something a little bit more dynamic?

Why not ask Lee to improve the "settarget" command that would allow potential targets to include other entities as well?

This could be something like:

:state=1,characterentitywithindist=500:settarget

Or something like that.

Put another checkmark next to that one for me. I'll second it. And if he could make a few, that would be even better. Now I think he has already said that he would be adding entity variables, and I'm not sure if this type of global variable was what he meant.

As for a command, there are many which would greatly enhance game play, some of which are mentioned above. (addlives, screenshake, plrdrop)

Just in the interest of adding another, I would like to see a plrmoveup= for the player which did not require association with another entity (plrmoveup=20,plrmoveup=-20). Then we could easily do jetpack and other flight scripts.

Best.

I didn't mention global variables because I had already made a post about it in the other post about what we wanted.

But go ahead and add these just in case Lee missed them:

- At least 3 Global Variables
- Ability to set state and activated to any variable
- Entity Timers

Um, I just want my decals to work. And my windows when I turn them static, oh and if my entities would appear, that would be cool too. As for that command, it seems silly but thats not for me to decide. I'd be happy with waypoints working properly.

Well, my request for variable seems like it was alreeady in the works...my bad.

I really have no requests for FPSC other than Head Shots and Variables.

Both of them are now in the plans for FPSC's future (newsletter & sticky I overlooked),so I await the two things that will make my designs complete.

Thanks TGC

If this is a request for evenmore suggestions then I will second Plystire suggestion.
Multiple timers would be nice, even if it were 3 or so global timers instead of each entity.
