Hi,

have you noticed that windows/PC clock gets ahead or delayed when running CPU is at 100%?

At idle, windows/PC clock seems fairly good. Now do a 15 minutes test at 100% CPU with an external watch clock. Depending on the hardware, it can offset like 8 seconds (!)

It seems a platform hardware issue, I've tried with different machines and the offset always appears.

Interesting, isn't it?

I ran a DBP app for about 10 minutes, and the PC clock remained in perfect sync with my stopwatch.

Well, I've noticed around [0.8 - 1.5] seconds for every 15 minutes for some hardwares, so perhaps 10 minutes is not enough for a good hardware to have the offset measureable.

Haven't tried it, but as a solution, have you considered using NTP to keep your clock automatically synced?

Mine has never successfully synchronised with the Microsoft time server or otherwise. I've never had any luck on other systems, either.

Well, not really wanting to solve it, just pointing it out.

To sync the clock with an external server just sets it right from time to time, in the meantime, the offset is still produced. I think high precision timer libraries are the best approach if wanting to face this behaviour.

So, no one else is that surprised with this... I thought you'd find it somewhat noticeable.
