klonoa,

i had a few minutes to follow the link provided but found no demo.

what i DID find on your site were some very interesting and impressive gameplay videos, though. one's that make:

ME WANT THE DEMO!

so, how about it? you'd prolly do well to add screenshots here to keep the thread open, too, which i recommend since, from what i saw in the vids, people will be interested in this game. so, please don't abandon this thread (like the last one).

He says "a demo by months' end".

Surprising you don't find a demo...

since kloana posted on jan 31st (in my time zone, anyway), i thought he/she was saying "here's the end-of-the-month demo" and expected that + screenshots to follow soon after in an updated post. and the part reading:

Quote: " Now i want release a demo..."

...contributed to my mistake <shrugs> i can wait. heh.

very nice demo! (was well worth the hassle of the download)

atmosphere was great, though taxing on my system in the first (& 2nd?) level (dropped down to ~12/14 FPS on my meager system, but playable). there was some confusion there also mainly because the player's ship can go so far out of camera range at some angles. sometimes it seemed like i HAD to go off-camera to get some of the enemies. but, i'm sure you will evaluate your levels and tweak as necessary.

the bosses were great. the models were very nice, and the game is, overall, very good quality. the music was fitting (especially in the first couple levels) as well. it ran stable, and i saw very few points of concern:

1) i noticed a couple instances where the exposions were obvious plain objects, which took away from the submersion factor a little. it was due to the camera angle at the time.

2) 1 or 2 instances of probable collision issues. my shot appeared on target but either a) didn't register a hit, or b) the visual "hit" sequence didn't trigger correctly.

they are minor issues as the rest of the game, 99.9% of it, appeared very solid. but they are things you may want to investigate at some point down the road.

a couple "feature" requests:

1) a PAUSE feature. i know it's early in development, so you probably already have this in the works.

2) full screen mode. again, probably something you'll include before final release.

and, a quick question:

level 3 is currently an endless, looping level, correct? i went deep into level three, hoping for 1 more boss but never came across one. after 2000 "esplosioni", i had to call it quits tell me there's 1 more boss, and i'll go back in and get it! heh.

again, very nice demo, klonoa! i'm looking forward to watching this game progress.

edit: i'm glad the player couldn't die in this demo. i can't imagine facing all that with 3-5 lives!

edit2: by the way, the "pizza" power-ups (?! ) stopped working at some point. i think it was in level 3.

you've got nothing to apologize for. the fact that DBPro and the TGC forums here truly span the globe is one of it's biggest assets, to me. without it, we'd never have Pizza Power-Ups in a space shooter here in the U.S. point being, "less than perfect english" is part of the sauce that makes the pie so tasty. does that make any sense? it's late for me...

Nice. Impressive stuff.

The ship rotation seemed a bit odd. I gather it's supposed to roll one way when travieeling downwards, and the other when travelling up, except it doesn't level out when you are not moving up or down. Was this your intention?

Sometimes the action went off screen. On the last level, i went off screen too much, and got lost- i could't get the ship back on it again! Perhaps you should confine the ship's movement to stop this happening.

Overall this is very cool. Clearly a lot of work has gone into it. Some wicked models BTW. You do Doga better than i do!

I have other observations/ niggles, but will be better to leave these for a later date, as i guess a lot is going to change anyway.
